"Get your stinky and outta here you filthy rubbish the next time I see you here, i'll ensure you get arrested" a robust middle-aged man with a bald head shouted as he smashes a thick stick on a thin and frail man who lay asleep before the man's shop. The man grunted when the stick landed on his back, he forced himself to his feet with gritted teeth and face distorted in pain as he moved, the middle-aged man kept hitting and hurling curses at him as he dragged himself away from the man's shop, his left leg bent in an awkward way while his right hand lay limply by his side. He dragged himself into an alley way filled with trashes and filths before collapsing on the floor, breathing heavily the stench that filled the alley didn't seem to bother him as he finally caught his breath but he still lay there staring emotionless into the sky, the sun was beginning to set and a red hue has been casted in the sky and a few clouds are drifting around, it would have been a beauty to others but the man didn't seem to be looking at the sky, his eyes we're blank as he remininsced his past. His name is Daniel an orphan whose parent died in a plane crash on their way back home from a business trip when he was ten years of age. His uncle took him in and catered for him after the death of his parents, everything was going well till he turned eighteen, his uncles wife who as been acting flirtatious towards him forced herself on him the day after his birthday as Daniel was weaker he couldn't resist then his uncle caught them but then before he could speak his uncles wife had burst into tears and she ran to his uncle side breathing heavily as if she was short of breath and pointed at Daniel crying loudly, her pretense was so real that even Daniel begin to doubt if she had raped him and not the other way around Daniel's uncle got him arrested immediately without listening to him at all, Daniel as naive as he was thought it was an impulsive act that his uncle would bail him out once he has calmed, but surprisingly for him he spent five years in prison before he was released, when he was released he went in search of his uncle but found out that he has left the city, he then went to his father's lawyer in hopes of retrieving his inheritance but when he got there, the lawyer informed him that the properties are in the hands of his guardian which happened to be his uncle and they have all been sold out the image of his uncle whom had catered for him from age ten just didn't tally with what he was seeing now, Daniel almost ran mad as his emotions ran wild it wasn't until three years that he was able to get himself together. He tried searching for a job but got rejected due to his reputation as a mad man. As if things weren't bad enough for him, a strange phenomenon happened worldwide, animals began to transform into beasts and attacked the humans, the world was in a turmoil as the beasts slaughtered thousands of people as guns couldn't kill most of them the humans could only retreat to places with fortified walls that beasts couldn't easily break through, people who were proficient in hand to hand-to-hand combat, martial arts and sword arts fought at the front lines as they retreated but their effort was insignificant as they were to few in number, it wasn't until five years later that humans with superpowers began to appear, replenishing the humans long lost hope though they were few in numbers and inexperienced in controlling their power, but as time goes on they learned to wield their powers better and their population also began to increase turning the tides of the war in their favour till they were eventually able to stand against the beasts. The humans were able to conquer three continents back, namely Australia, Europe and South-America from the beasts thanks to the awakened ones as they were called, but they were never able to exterminate them completely as the brith rate of the beasts exceeded that of the humans by a large margin. After the war has subsided the human population worldwide became less than 1% of their former population but thankfully the humans birth rate as also increased though not as much as the beasts. The three leaders of these continents whom also happened to be the strongest in their countries respectively collided and created a new system which placed the awakened in noble-like class of the ancient times while the non-awakened were seen as ants, slavery also became a thing of the norms, then an adventurer Guild was created and it is also the only way for the non-awakened to gain recognition apart from being a merchant. A few years later it was discovered that their is a 45% chance of awakening in a life and death situation, many people rushed into the forest in hopes of awakening but most of them never returned and of the few that returned 3% awakened while the rest became crippled, Daniel also tried his luck but unfortunately for him he met a humanoid monster that has every feature of a normal human apart from being too pale and have claws as well as fangs, the last thing he remembered was seeing it disappear from his sight and the he felt an immeasurable amount of pleasure course through him before he lost consciousness.
