Prologue
I am sitting in the secretary’s office awaiting my faith, with the hope that I will be accepted in this small town.
I ask myself, what are the chances that they will get here as well and prevent me from graduating? I cross my fingers and hope for the best, but I’ve learned not be too optimistic about these things. They really know how to move fast.
I can hear the voices from where I’m sitting, but I can’t make out what they are saying. I was concentrating so hard that I didn’t notice the girl who came to sit beside me.
“Hi” she said
I looked at her and ignored her hoping she’ll get the hint.
“Are you the new kid?” she asked. “The one they are talking about inside?” she continued pointing to the closed door.
I just shrugged not interested in talking to any bimbo.
“So, what did you do?” she asked
I kept on ignoring her, pretending that I didn’t hear her.
“I mean, it’s usually very fast when taking in new students” She continued like we were having a normal conversation.
She opened her mouth to ask another question but she didn’t’ get to finish the sentence as another girl interrupted her.
“I don’t think he wants to talk to you Cherry” She said.
I looked up to find the girl who had spoken and did a double take. She looks really familiar, but i don’t want to acknowledge her either, so i just ignored both of them.
“What’s it to you bitch?” the bimbo snarled.
The other girl looked behind her, and looked at the bimbo with questioning look “Were you talking to me?” she asked while pointing to herself, like she was confused.
“Who else is here, other than you?” the bimbo hissed and stood up to her full height facing her opponent
“There’s only one bitch here and I’m staring her in the face” the other one replied.
“Maybe you should back off, I found him first”
“He’s not a bloody property that you can claim” she said rolling her eyes.
The other girl is a bit on the short side, but she is really giving the bimbo a glare not fit for her size. They stood there glaring at each other waiting for the first one to back off.
The bimbo gave in first “Don’t think this is over” she said as she started leaving “Watch your back”
The short girl sighed and shook her head then faced me.
“Sorry about that” she said “That girl acts like a dog in heat whenever there’s a new guy around”
I just shrugged, like I said I didn’t want to acknowledge anyone in this place.
“Hmm, a mute one” she said.
I know she just wants to bait me into talking, but I didn’t respond.
“Oh well, don’t say I didn’t try to warn you” she shrugged and walked away.
My mum came out with the principal in tow, she looked really angry and disappointed, and that’s when I knew I won’t be going to school here.
’I’m sorry Mrs. Sanders, I can’t help you” he said “But I will try my best to assist you”
“Don’t bother” she said angrily “I don’t need anyone’s help, let’s go”
I stood up and followed her outside.
I didn’t notice the girl lurking around watching us leave.
