Chapter 1
CHAPTER 1: 2099
Amidst the year, 2036, by the ever-rising means of extreme liberalism, blue-eyed societies began being discriminated against. At first, it was elusive, with brown-eyed people in society, giving preference to only other brown-eyed people in societies but eventually by 2047, draconian policies were slyly surfacing.
How have we gotten here? You may be wondering. Wonder no more:
A decade before the year 2047, with the total collapse of the European Union, nations gained what they thought would be greater independence to make their own decisions. This brought about civil unrest out of which some of the brown-eyed people exploited what was happening to further their distorted agenda. A man-made virus pandemic was used to create hysteria amongst the global population eventually turning people into suspecting everyone else of being infected causing divides even amongst parents and their children.
Not long after, Blue-eyed people were labelled and blamed for being racist exploiters of the human race and were accused of implementing eugenics programmes. Although in the beginning, it was acknowledged, not all blue-eyed people are evil. One of the stimulants for the rise of the brown eye society was a book written in 2020. The book was hijacked and the complete opposite meaning of the author’s intended message was derived. It rapidly evolved into propagating blue-eyed people by their very nature, are egomaniacs, and need to be removed from any role of authority. Numerous negative characteristics were prescribed, to the blue-eyed people. Eventually, they were persecuted and driven out.
This day, history is distorted; all that is left is animosity for the other. The brown-eyed ruling bourgeoisie and the majority of its followers have become guilty of everything they once accused their “enemies” of, the blue-eyed predecessors, becoming even worse. Cities are locked-down with traveling between them severely restricted. Tinted domes ‘protect us from the ominous’ blue sky. Water is the most precious commodity policed by The (Brown-eyed) Gatekeepers.
The blu-faunas reside in Neptune, a slum of desperate conditions, endured for a pittance. With grim living standards, the majority of men are labourers who are driven out daily to cosmic badlands where they are made to work on luxurious construction projects for the Apex Predators. Exploited the blu-faunas, as a reward for their labour, are thrown the scraps from (the ironically named) Diverse-City, home of the Apex predators. A city built upon the pretence of multiculturalism.
Societies have reverted to caste systems similar to past times. Noble classes, warrior classes, and artists of high culture including the sciences are reserved for the Apex Predators. The remaining are the lower castes, which are comprised from amongst the blu-faunas’ population. These include: Grease-Monkeys, Wizards, Wozs, Gatekeepers, Artisans, and Crypts.
Everyone is implanted with Nanotech cells, which have the ability to alter DNA. Modifications can be made temporarily, tricking the DNA but this effect does not last for more than 72 hours and then the DNA overwrites any changes made restoring its default setting. Any changes made are flagged on the system, which monitors everything and EVERYONE.
Another Monday, afternoon –another typical melancholic day with clouds as blackened smoke. Keon entered his water hub station only to find his partner and best friend, Kai – beating Ape. Keon dashed towards them straight away and began ripping the two apart. “You stay out of this Keon! You don’t know what he wants to spend the digits on!” yelled Kai whilst panting as he tried pushing Keon away from them to carry on attacking Ape. Kai kept shoving Keon so he grabbed Kai by his collar and swung him to his left in line with his momentum and took him down to the ground where he managed to subdue him.
“Calm down Kai! Stop resisting. I’ll hear you out and if Ape’s wrong – we’ll sort it. Our way.” “I am calm! I’m calm, you can get off me, little brother.” Said Kai. Keon let go of him and got up to face Ape who had by now, taken a few steps away and was trying to catch his breath whilst trying to stop the bleeding from his nose.
Keon took them to the round table to talk it over. All important matters were discussed at this table. It was almost sacred. An actual part of them. The walk to the table itself was enough to make one’s heart start racing. Once the two were in a calm state of mind, Keon asked Kai about what had happened so Keon was told everything, starting from the disagreement that took place between Kai and Ape earlier that day.
Once Kai had finished explaining to Keon what had happened, there was an eerie moment of silence. “Ape?” Yes, King K?” “Did you honestly believe that making a deal with the Volans would be of any benefit to us?” asked Keon in a disappointed tone. “King K, please let me exp-” “Shut up!” yelled Kai as he stood up, slamming his hands on the table opposite Ape, causing him to flinch. “Kai. Sit down.” Kai looked at Keon then walked a little away from the table, holding his head. “Ape, It really is disappointing that you went and discussed this with such fools. Let me guess? You met up with Baggs too?” Keon asked. Ape did not respond. “He and his gang are known by everyone for embezzling and yet you – ...Ape, WE are The Gatekeepers, you hear me? Baggs and his feeble followers, really?” Ape gave a slight nod.
Keon sighed then asked Ape: “I want you to tell me everything you told them.” After hearing it all from him, Keon turned towards Kai who was standing near the door, and said, “He needs to pay for this.” “I can’t let this slide” Keon added. “King K?” Ape asked in surprise. “You can give me any penalty if you want but please don’t take me from the North!” “You know how we deal with these things Ape, we don’t bend the rules for anyone, and you know that best. You can leave.” Said Keon as he and Kai both turned their faces away from Ape. Ape opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something but was lost for words and left without further argumentation. Kai then relieved himself back to his chair besides Keon. “Keon, this is really dangerous what he’s done. What kind of message does this send to everyone else?” “I hear you. I did not expect this from him at all. It does not make any sense.” Keon replied.
Seven walked in and took her place at the table. She did not need to ask to know something serious had happened. “Be a brother and go to Hook. He has a sack waiting to be picked up. When you get back, we will get to the bottom of this because there is more to this than meets the eye.” Said Keon. “He sold us out Keon.” “Kai, when you get back...” insisted Keon. “Okay, brother.” Replied Kai, then left.
Seven called Ape back into the room at Keon’s request. “Ape, tell me what really happened. I know you were holding back because of Kai.” Said Keon. “King K... I could not tell him because you know what he’s like. Those dirty cold-eyed blu-faunas are holding Meed.” Keon furrowed his brows. “What?” he asked. “They took him this morning.” Ape replied as he took out a decapitated human finger from his vest’s pocket and placed it on the table. Keon was filled with rage and leaned over. “It’s his. Checked it.” Said Ape.
“What are they demanding?” Keon asked. “They have accused Meed of trying to steal some component. Watch this.” Replied Ape as he activated his hologram device. “They sent frames of Meed breaking into their facilities.” “They must have set him up.” Keon said as he watched the clip. “Regardless, we have to get him.” “What does he want?” Keon asked. “King K, Baggs said he’ll spare Meed, but he wants control of the water station in the West sect.” Ape replied. “We need to think of something while we wait for Kai. He should be back soon but we need to come up with a good strategy. He wants us to hand it over? We won’t. We can’t.” Said Keon. “I know.” “Ape, We’re going to make Baggs pay for what he did. You’ll come with Kai and I.” Keon demanded. “Of course.” Ape replied. Keon turned towards Seven who had stood up. “You know what to do I assume?” Keon asked. “Yes, King K.” replied Seven. “I’ll have everything prepared and will join you once Kai returns.” Keon nodded and she left.
CHAPTER 2: Neptune
Meanwhile, in Neptune, Noid entered the room. “It’s done.” Okami said whilst looking at his processor. “Really?!” Noid asked surprised. “Well, almost. There’s a small problem.” “What?” Noid asked. “There’s something I need. A component.” “You want me to get it for you?” Noid asked. “It’s not that simple.” Okami replied. Noid tilted her head slightly.
“There are only 8 of them in the whole lands and they’re hard to get but one was squeezed just 3 days ago so I’d been tracking its location. Turns out, Baggs and his men were the ones who stole it.” “Seriously, those damn predators? So, when are we going to get it?” Noid asked. “Now.” Replied Okami. “Right now?!” She asked surprised. “We’ll leave once you get your things ready, the quicker the better. We need to get it before he moves it to someplace else.” “No, we need to wait until sunset.” Said Noid. “Ah! Makes sense.” Replied Okami.
Okami and Noid got ready and got on their O-X-E. Okami passed a pill to Noid. “What’s this for?” she asked with a smirk. “We don’t have the component yet so we need to deactivate the eyes inside of us.” “Sweet.” She said with a smile and took the pill. They flew towards the west Sect. Once they got to Quasar district and parked their O-X-E in stealth mode, making them invisible.
In the darkness, they snuck towards the Volan’s lair. They boosted over a high wall, through the use of magnetic force field boots. Once they got over, they saw a pack of wild dogs. Noid quickly activated a dog pitch frequency signal, causing them to fall unconscious, and said with a smile: “Thanks Okami. I really love this!” Okami smiled then pulled down his face mask from his head and began scanning the building using it.
“Got it. It’s on the far east side of the building.” Okami whispered. Noid pulled down her mask too and they both scurried and sprinted towards the location of their prize. As Okami was about to enter through the window, Noid grabbed him and whispered: “Okami, it’s a trap!” Okami shrugged her and entered. Noid dropped her head and quickly followed Okami.
...They had secured the component safely and were almost near the exit when suddenly they heard a pained muffled voice and the sound of rattling chains coming from what seemed like an entry to a dungeon. The stench of blood could be smelt. Okami signalled Noid to stop. They hid behind one of the printers and looked cautiously.
Noid gasped at the sight of the blood from the cut finger of a young boy. “What are you still glaring at?” laughed one of the men. “Maybe cut a hand this time?” sneered another. “Shut up. Hold out his hand.” Demanded Stringy. Her complexion quickly went dull, she got her gun out, however, Okami nodded no. He signalled her to get the boy and he went to take out Baggs’s men. Within 1 minute and 51 seconds, the throats of 5 men had been cut and there they lay like dead animals in a slaughterhouse.
During the exchange, Okami dropped the device which Stringy quickly snatched. Okami walked towards Stringy who attempted to alert the others but was slashed on his Achilles, causing him to stumble on the floor, by Okami’s Kusarigama. “Give me the control module.” Okami demanded as he moved closer. “What module are you talking about?!” Stringy asked whilst having it in his hand, clearly visible. Okami began spinning his blade. Stringy gave it to him, whilst shaking and begging to be spared. Okami hit him with the back of his weapon knocking him out with his head drooping over his chest.
He took the module and walked towards Noid, who had finished unchaining the boy. “Not a sound or we’ll leave you here got it?” Noid asked. The boy nodded. “Good. Eat this, it’ll reduce the pain.” Noid said as she passed him a small red pill. They left the station and made their way outside. “What sect are you from?” Okami asked whilst they were running. “North.” Replied the boy. “Look, we can take you about halfway with us, but you’re on your own after that.” Said Okami. The boy looked surprised. “Why are you helping me?” “Not sure.” replied Okami. The boy was at a loss for words. “I owe you.” “We don’t have time to talk right now. Let’s move. Jump!” Noid said.
They jumped down a floor and ran towards Quasar District. Okami jumped on his O-X-E. “Hurry up you two!” Said Okami. “Get on.” Okami told Meed. Noid activated hers and they left. 6 minutes later, they arrived at the West Sects border, only to find more predators approaching the border. Okami and Noid got their weapons out and stepped off the vehicles.
The predators got their weapons and began attacking whilst running at full speed. Noid stood shielding Meed whilst Okami was about to attack back. As the predators got closer, Meed recognised them and suddenly yelled at them to “Stop!” from the distance. “That’s my brother!” Meed told Okami. It was Keon, Kai, and Ape. They lowered their weapons and came closer. Noid kept her shield on but Okami put his weapon away. Meed ran to his brother. Kai saw his hand and was full of rage. “They saved me from Baggs.” “This is out of your character isn’t it?” Keon asked as he looked at Okami. “As if, you would do the same.” Replied Okami. “Baggs and his cronies! We have to move!” said Noid as Okami and Noid got on their O-X-Es, Noid looked at Meed and said: “Make sure you get the RX 300 to replace your finger, see you later kid.” And flew off.
“I’m going to kill him!” Kai said to Meed. Keon put his hand on Kai’s shoulder and said “Not this day.” “Those two stole the Inhibitor component from Baggs.” Said Meed. “Take him back.” Keon commanded. “I’ll meet you there.” Said Keon as he jumped on his O-X-E and flew into the direction Okami and Noid flew in.
A minute later following Okami and Noid, Keon could now see them flying. Noid thought she heard a crash so looked back to see what happened – when she was about to turn back, suddenly she saw Keon. She turned and looked at Okami. “Uh Oh, Okami! We’re being followed!” she said as she dodged a sponsor glass that was moving from towards her direction. “No, we’re not.” He laughed. She then got closer to Okami. “I’m reallyyy serious?! Look behind us! Look!” she demanded.
Okami looked over his shoulder and sure enough, there he was. Noid was right. They were being followed. “zip up, this way!” Okami said as he made his way towards busy traffic. Noid followed him. They began speeding to lose him amongst the oncoming O-X-Es but Keon was catching up. Okami and Noid both began swerving in different directions to confuse Keon but he carried on following Okami. “Speed up more!” As they approached the Musk factor Okami said: “Time to fly like a butterfly!” So Noid took a right and he went left. Keon turned left, following Okami who deliberately prolonged his journey so as to give Noid enough time to get away. As Keon began getting closer to Okami, Okami switched on his custom-built light energy boost which increased his speed by twenty-five percent.
Keon tried his best to keep up however, he was losing distance quickly and there was not much time until they arrived at the force field for Neptune. Okami went through however, Keon slowed down and braked, knowing it wasn’t safe to go through. Okami had escaped. Keon made his way back.
Once Keon got back to his hub station, waiting for him were, Kai, Meed, Ape, and Seven. As soon as he entered, Kai got up from his chair and walked to Keon. “They got away. We reached Neptune’s border, I couldn’t follow them any longer.” “It’s alright since we’re collecting information on them from the system.” “I see. How’s Meed?” Keon asked Kai. “Well...how you’d expect someone to be like after losing a finger, I suppose.” Replied Kai. “King K, I heard the blu-faunas stole the Inhibitor component?” Asked Seven. “That’s right.” “How did they know where to get it?” Ape asked. “They’re ahead of us in many ways.” Keon replied. “Their tech..” Keon mumbled. “There’s something special about those two.” Said Keon. “It doesn’t make sense.” “They already had the component. I saw them, they could have escaped. They didn’t have to help me, but they did. Those Volan fools were about to take my hand off!” said Meed. “I am going to take more than Baggs’s hand.” Said Kai. “King K, Meed told us their names. Okami and Noid. Blu-faunas from Neptune.”
“Okami is a Tech genius, far beyond his age – which is only 19! As for Noid, she is behind some of the biggest thefts in the last few decades.” Said Seven. “And how old is she?” Ape asked nervously. Everyone looked at him sternly. “Go on, Seven. Continue.” Keon said. “She is trained in combat from what I could find however, it’s vague. Obviously, we can’t know everything about them because they choose to go off the grid.” Said Seven.
“Meed, did Baggs see their faces?” Kai asked. “No, they only removed their masks for a few seconds before they carried me. They knew eyes were on them. From behind them so before they got up, they put their masks back on. Their eyes were bluer than anything that I have ever seen. I know we’re not meant to trust them but I do.” “Meed?” Keon asked. “We don’t know why they saved you, for sure.” Keon continued. “King K, no disrespect but I have no doubt. It was not for any other motive except they saw me suffering.” Said Meed. “That still doesn’t change anything.” Said Kai. “It can’t, can it?”
“You lot must have heard of ‘The child with the eyes of the Ophidians’ – I don’t know if he was a legend or a myth. Supposedly, he was the first and only born with heterochromia iridium in 68 years. ” said Keon.
Keon went on to tell the tale...Let me tell you:
Chapter 3: Legend Or Myth?
“The child with the eyes of the Ophidians”
For many years, the division was the order of the settlement between the Ophidians of the eras, after the year 2037. For so long the hate and repulsive nature of each society towards any different grew as the roots and branches of the septuagenarian Orion Pine, lasting through generations, ever-growing. The people had forgotten the ways of the ancient, of greater peace, equality, and order.
Blue eyes and Brown eyes became as distinct as black and white once were. As day and night are. As right and wrong are, yet neither are right but both are wrong. Objectivity became a staple of their modern lifestyles. To judge all by the actions of one, but to hate without cause. A frame of futile manufacturing to build their empires upon, the foundation as corrupt and brittle as the rulers who recline with ease, mounted on their towers of pride, unfit and unjust. Rulers, whose emotions clouded their judgments, whose moralities were revolving around their desires.
For years, hate and feud grew amongst the dispersed regions but within the renamed lands of “Diverse-City”, there arose an occurrence. An occurrence, which sparked in both the Blue-eyed and the Brown-eyed peoples’ minds and hearts; an essence, a thought, a feeling of inhumanity. This occurrence was rarer to them than the detrimental occurrence of a Sable Star. This was the occurrence of heterochromia iridium.
On the 23rd of Jan 2056, there was this occurrence; a child was born during a time of war on a battlefield in a sheltered homemade for and by the unorthodox as they fought for their freedom and survival against the two armies, which had parted this one time. The blu-faunas and the apex predators had sent out their elite tactical prevailing forces the Beta Sirius and The Scorpions to eliminate the Unorthodox in their secretive location. However, as they destroyed and ravaged, mascaraed and carnage incarnated in the armies, they killed the mass of the minor society with only a few escaping, and the parents of this new-born child were brutally murdered. When all had passed like a storm on a cloudy day, in the silence of war, a voice was heard. A cry. By a soldier, the last at the end of the army, leaving the ruins they had caused.
The soldier, still intact with a scarce sense of morality persuaded himself to not end the voice. Left to be the only survivor, some of the elderly women around the expanse had rushed to his care as they had been searching for anyone who may have survived. They hid him from the Sand-Sweepers who had been assigned to scan the obliterated zone.
The old women were as surprised as they once were when the world had fallen out of order into chaos. They knew the child they saw was rarer than any jewel or stone, any plasmoid converter, anything in the universe. This child could be the key to the total restoration of peace and order. They had belief and hope. The child was marked with a birthmark reading “King”. (王)
This was marked on the top of his head vertically and one of the women, Eastern in origin read in her forgotten language. The elderly women were in tears of joy and pain, their emotions mixed. Their memories of their past flooding, rushing through their minds, as vivid as the marking on the child’s head. Their friends and families, how they were ripped from them and caused to hate them and brainwashed with such appalling ideologies.
They were rejoicing with the hope that their offspring and theirs would live in a better future than what it was becoming. That the world around them could come to see sense once more. The child that had “the eyes of the Ophidians”. They named this child Dominion, as they believed he would bring great power and his legacy would last through generations as the great tree Orion Pine.
Dominion had the eye of the sea and the eye of the stone.
One as bright and blue as the ocean, shimmering and translucent, swirling and pulling in the observance of whoever looked into it, engulfing their mind and concentration like the waves of the sea drowning a person, it would drown them into thought and mesmerise them yet bring back memories of isolation and loneliness, of sombre, flooding their minds with emotion.
The other as brown as a bear, not dark, but not bright it too was immensely translucent, almost shining when sunlight would penetrate it. It gave them warmth and comfort, yet caused them to remember pain and anger, with heat like that of the sun reflecting into the eye, back into theirs. The eyes together brought a feeling of total satisfaction and contempt to the one who would look into them. A feeling of restoration.
As he grew and explored the world around him, people would often gift him as they knew him to be an orphan but they also felt privileged as to having seen the boy as many had heard of the stories and hopes and he was to all inspiring. Word of the two-eyed boy had travelled from neighbour to neighbour, shop to shop, village to village, town to town until both the Ophidians had come to know of his existence.
He grew and felt the pain of losing all 5 of the elderly women who raised him, this changed him and made him mature at a very young age, growing he was strong and willing and would often help the old and travel between all zones. The two ophidians had their eyes on him and were intimidated by his life and popularity. Neither of them took claim of him as it would have been a declaration of war as his existence had softened the hearts of the two elderly ophidians.
By the age of 20, he was stronger and smarter than any man of both territories. People from both eyes felt an unexplainable urge to protect him. Those who didn’t fear him and feared causing him trouble or inconvenience in even the slightest way.
By the time he had aged 20, the Ophidian of the Apex Predators had fallen immensely ill. The heir to the throne was Malone’s oldest son, Bain. Bain had never appreciated his father’s tenderness and thought that he was unfit to rule for many years until his death and when he became the new appointed Ophidian of the Apex Predators, he had undone all that his father had managed to reconcile and seek forgiveness for and his thoughts and beliefs caused greater distress and pain. He grew stronger by his power and army conquering more lands and expanding on them and centered the blu-faunas in the heart of the land, Neptune.
Bain had hated and despised Dominion for many years, his jealousy of him and his father’s interest in him was what caused him to bring about the destruction he did. He had sent his best men to kill Dominion and once he learned that Dominion had been married in secret to an Apex Predator he had it fixed her name alongside Dominion’s on his death list. Dominion had taken shelter in Neptune where he hid for some time and then left with a group of people who had still believed in him and they left the city. 3 years later, he married and his wife was carrying his second child when she became very ill. Her condition warranted either mother or child to die unless she received appropriate medical treatment. Dominion convinced his wife, Yuki to return to Neptune.
After having told the others this tale, of course not to the extent I have told you, Keon ended by saying “But back to reality.” he sat back and sipped his cup. Ape raising his hand, asked “King K? Can I ask you something”, Keon replied “Of course, go on Ape”, falteringly he asked, “What does uhh it like umm, you know how, well, it’s like, umm, He-Here t-tero chomio, like yeh, what does it mean?”
Everyone started laughing, Keon whilst laughing himself tell them to “quiet down, you mean heterochromia Ape?” “Yes King K, that’s the one”. Keon replied, “The guy supposedly had one brown eye and one blue eye.”
Meanwhile, in Neptune...
Okami and Noid having reached back at their place, began working on finishing the inhibitor. “It’s almost done now, we don’t have much more to do.” Said Okami as he was working. “what do you mean ‘much more to do’? how long is it gonna take?” she asked curiously. “A few more hours at least and then once it’s ready I’m going to inject myself with it.” She exclaims “What if it doesn’t work Okami?!” to which he replies “When has anything I’ve made not worked? It’ll work just trust me, all you have to do is follow my instructions.” Confused, she asked “What instructions?”
He put down his tools, turned around, and said “I will become unconscious after I inject myself. I will get a fever, possibly a rash, I don’t know. You have to remain calm it’s normal, it’s just the body’s defence mechanism fighting a foreign substance it sees a threat but eventually, it will subside. You can help by keeping my neck and feet cold if however you see froth from my mouth you need to inject me with the X-cell I have stored in that cabinet” and then he pointed to his left side, an illuminated levitating cabinet with a holographic screen floating above it, dappled with various drugs and chemicals on top. “Not the blue one, but the red one.”
She sits back holds her head and then says “Oh my God, Okami I have a bad feeling about this” He turns back around and continues working and says “You don’t need to overthink this Noid,” and starts laughing.
Noid laughs, and then after looking down on her leg, staring puzzled, she screamed: “Okami, I got cut!” Okami spun around and pulled up his goggles look and then starts laughing, “it’s not your blood Noid” then turns back around and continues working to which she replies “Ewww, yuck!“.
“Okami? You do know that was King K and the gatekeepers right?” asked Noid, she then answers herself “If they know who we are, obviously the kid would’ve told them our names, and he saw us, King K literally chased after us. Oh my God, they could be outside right now!” Okami looks up at her without moving his head, she realises she getting carried away and admits “ok fine, maybe that was a little bit of an exaggeration.” Then they laughed.
A few hours later...
Okami said “It’s time! To test this, I mean, do this.” And then Noid asked “how long until you wake up? After you get injected?” Okami paused for a second and then said “210 minutes” he reclined his seat and injected himself, quickly losing consciousness. As he said he would, Okami developed a fever, Noid freaked out but did as he instructed. As he had anticipated, he began frothing from his mouth and Noid ran to the cabinet but forgot which of the injections she was meant to use, she grabbed both and began contemplating. “He said the blue one. No, he said don’t use the blue one. He definitely said the red one, He must have? Did he?” She sits back for a moment telling herself to calm down, “Don’t panic, it’s got to be red, red for danger, he said red” and then she injected him, gradually his fever began to abate.
Bored, with over an hour left until Okami would wake, Noid began snooping around his room. Opening drawers, pushing boxes, checking backs of vintage photo frames, until she reached an ancient table clock. The grooves of the mahogany clock seemed odd to her. She began pressing against the groves, attempting to slide them as if it was a jigsaw puzzle, sliding her fingers between them, and then eventually she found a button.
“Uh-huh! What might this be?” she pressed the button and a compartment had sprung open and hit her on the side of the head, where she was resting her ear to hear if any alterations in the ticking could have been heard by pressing the grooves. “ouch!” she moved back and then looked into the compartment, the mechanism was designed so that it would open in 13 weeks from then, she sees a white envelope and pulls it out gently, worrying there may be some kind of an alarm.
She sat back on a chair and contemplated whether she should have opened the letter or not. “It’s not mine. Then again, I am a thief. It’s not like I steal my own things.” She slowly tore the letter open staring at Okami who was slowly regaining conscience. She read aloud but to herself “Dear Okami, my blue-eyed boy...” she then began to whisper, and on her face were multiple configurations, those of confusion, surprise, sympathy, and then she looked over at Okami who was attempting to sit up.
Speechless, she looked to him, with a worried face and one of guilt. He looked back with his vision blurred, “Noid? Is everything ok?” she looked back at the letter then at him and nodded no. “What it is? What’s that?” he rubbed his eyes and looked across the room, the clock was open. “Okami-” she stopped. “What Noid? What’s going on?” he sat up. She trembled as she asked “Okami, do you know the tale of the ‘two-eyed man’ ‘The child with the eyes of the Ophidians’?”
Okami looked at her, confused, “of course, who doesn’t? What’s going on Noid, what are you holding?” she stood folding the paper putting it back into the envelope, and then whispering, “Okami, that man. That man is your father.”
Okami held his head, and angrily asked, “What are you going on about? This isn’t funny, this isn’t a joke Noid” she nodded no and then said “Okami no, listen to me. I’m not joking, you have to read this, he is your father.”
To be Continued...
