Chapter 1: Katheryn

KATHERYN

It's already 1 in the morning and I am still preparing to go to sleep but when I am about to close my eyes my phone suddenly ring.

"Jason calling..."

I took a deep breath before answering my co workers call.

"Hello Jason, is there something wrong?" I ask as I get up in my bed because I have a feeling that there is an emergency in the hospital.

"Hello, doctora I'm sorry to disturb you but we need you here right now. There was an accident awhile ago and we are short in hand here that is why we are calling the doctors who are available as of right now" he said as I can hear in his background that the hospital is receiving a lot of patients

"I'll be right their" I said and hang up the phone before changing to my professional outfit and rushing to the hospital to help without even a blink of sleep.

Exactly 9 in the morning the situation had been stabilize, fortunately their is no patient who died in the accident but their are lot of patients who have severe injuries that may take time to heal.

"Doc Kath" I looked at the nurse who is standing in the door of my office and I can see her hesitation on telling me what she needed to say

"what is it?" I just ask as I sit properly in my chair. "Their is patient who is in the emergency room and doesn't want to be checked unless it was you" she said and as much as I wanted to slap my head I just smile and stand and ask the nurse to lead the way.

I am already tired as I still do not have a sleep but I am a doctor and as a doctor I need to help every person who needed my help and who seek for help. And as long as I can help, I will help.

As I entered the emergency room, again. I saw a sophisticated woman and I can't help but to smile once I recognized her.

"You still make the doctors work difficult Mrs. Park" I said with a smile that caught her attention

"You guys can go, I'll handle her my self" I said and smile to my co worker who tried to persuade Mrs. Park to tell what is wrong with her but I knew better.

"So what are you doing here? I thought your favorite grandson is keeping his eye on you?" I asked as I sit in front of her. Elisabeth Patk was one of my patient 2 years ago and ever since she was discharge, it either she visit me in my apartment or here in the hospital.

"He's busy, you know with his bitchy girlfriend. But I don't know what's going on as I seems not to see that doll since last month" she said and I can't help but to chuckle as I know how she hate her grandsons girlfriend. Which I don't know why.

"Anyway set aside my grandson whom I just escaped" she said and smiled at me "So, how are you? It's been almost 2 months since are last meet. The last time I remember was our last meeting, day after your flight to Sidney for some medical mission" she said while smiling, and I can't also seems to stop smiling because of her. She is just full of life.

"I am fine, and the medical mission in Sidney was a great experience. How about you? How are you and your condition?" I said with a smile in my face "I'm also fine, but a little bit stressed" she said that confused me.

"Stressed? Of what?" I asked

"You see my grandson is so strict that I needed to escape just to meet you here and also my food. I am nearly becoming a goat because he keep on insisting that vegetable is more appropriate to eat than to have some meat" she sterically said and I can't help but to chuckle

"He just love you Mrs. Park, besides he's right you need more vegie than meat" I said and we continue to chat until she receive a call from her grandson asking if where she was and as a naughty old lady here she said where she was and left mediately.
