Chapter 1

My family is rather big, so I want to find them all.

Allow me to explain, I am Phrān, and I was adopted as a baby. I never knew my original family, because my birth-mother gave me up for adoption when I was born. My adoptive family is only just a woman who couldn’t have kids. She loves me so-so much, but she gets way too sensitive when it comes to my birth-family. I remember how one time I asked her about my birth-family and she got so upset that she locked me in my room for three whole days.

I lived in Wyoming with my adoptive mother in a nice house in the countryside. It was a two-story house with a balcony in the master bedroom and a basement, which got used as my bedroom. The house was surrounded by lovely fields that always bloomed with wild flowers in the spring and summer. To the South, about 20 minutes away from the house, there is a stretch of woods that goes on for miles. Near the house there is a lake, me and my adoptive mother always went swimming there in the summer! The road is a mile away from the house, and my adoptive mother would always leave for work one week, and for the next week she would stay home with me.

As I grew up, She would give me school lessons on weeks she was home with me. Oh boy, with courses like hers, I learned faster than most kids. How do I know this? Well, she gave me access to the internet as long as she could see what I was doing the entire time. I remember playing games like draw.io and others, as well as online forums for homeschooled kids. Sometimes my adoptive mother would let a teacher online test me to see how much I was actually learning, the teachers were always impressed with my intelligence. All of the material they tested me on I had learned the year before! There was also the rule of only non-fiction books about the middle-ages of countries like England or France. She had said those were “the only GOOD and INFORMATIVE books around these days” and that it would teach me things that would come in handy later.

In my teenage years, I was not exactly a normal teen girl. I was always so rebellious, I would try to sneak out into a town called Rekkehus that was about 3 miles away. I had figured out the computer password and would sneak onto the internet when my adoptive mother was out on her job. I would get in trouble, sure, but you MUST understand that the thrill was an amazing feeling for me, I had never had so much freedom than those times I was a rebel! I felt like I had so much power, that I could do whatever I pleased with no consequence!
