I’m Citrouille. It’s french for pumpkin.
I’m considering if my parents just wanted to name me after squash but attempted to make it elegant. Well, Citrouille Diáfano-Panacea Selinofoto. I come from many different cultural backgrounds so my full name is a handful , that’s why I prefer to be called Pumpkin or Bonbon to save people from absolutely slaughtering my name.
My mom isn't in my life unlike my father. , so that means I don’t get to see my little sister as often as I want to, since it was me and her before the split up. I’m 17. I’m not a legal aldult yet so no, I haven’t shifted nor found my mate. I have two bestfriends, Teo and Patrulia, we’ve been bestfriends since birth so they are like my siblings to me. We all attend the same Universty since we’re all incredibly smart, except me, I struggle really hard but end up pulling my way through when grades come in. They are also werewolves- Gamma’s and the (worldwide) best defenders’ children.

“ANNNDDD THEY KISS” Patrulia or Ulie (oo-l-ee) giggles.
“He fuckin’ that shit upppp, EAT EAT EAT, uglahhh” Teo shouts.
I laugh until my stomach cramps up- and then laugh even harder. I’m not sure what happened after that, I think I fell asleep.
“Wake up you dumb hoe” Ulie smacks my shit wih a pillow and I damn near fall off the bed. “Gah dayum👨🏾🦲” I’m about to lunge at her before Teo walks in wearing a striped Polo shirt, neon green basketball shorts, one cowboy boot and my little sister’s Cinderella slipper from years ago. Not to mention his legs are ashy as hell so me and Ulie look at each other and start laughing so hard that we have tears streaming down our faces. It doesn’t help that Teo’s making poses.
“Cmonnn we’re going to be late, get ready you slow mfs” I grab my clothes and my toilet essentials and head into the bathroom. Teo’s house is legit huge so there’s enough bathrooms for everyone. I turn on the shower and play Decode by Paramore- slowed+reverb.
Soon I’m in black ripped jeans, an oversized neon green sweatshirt with a white collar underneath, dark green Jordan 1’s, black socks, a few jewelry items like medium sized gold hoops, a small necklace that has two hearts and a bracelet Teo got us all for our 12th birthday. Oddly Teo and Ulie were born a day apart and I was born a week after.
I stare at myself. A girl who holds curiosity in her eyes looks back. “Hm..” I say as I head to the living room to grab my backpack.

Even though I’m in college, there are still immature people who pick on me just because I’m overweight and not willing to sleep with everyone. As if on cue, “Hey fatty, you actually look decent today, how about you come to my dorm..” He looks me up and down and sends me a flirty wink that just makes me wanna sock him in his shit but I refrain. I look down, biting my tongue and just walk to my classes hoping to have an okay day.
While I wait for my friends to come to the seating tables outside, I check my grades. A 52.5%, 61%, and 76% shows up on my computer. I sigh and put my head down, feeling defeated. Teo and Ulie show up a few moments later. I quickly put on my “tired face” and greet them.
PATRUILA’S POV
It’s obvious that BonBon isn’t okay. School is beating her ass and I’m not sure how to help her. She knows everything, something isn’t clicking though.
I internally sigh and smile wide knowing how to cheer her up. “Hey y’all wanna go shopping at around 5pm?” That was in a few hours so I had time to talk with Teo. Alone.
I want to help the girl. Maybe go to a psychiatrist? Advanced tutor lessons? Counseling? I’m not sure yet but I know I need to help her before the real world fucks her mentality up. I say my goodbye’s Bonbon up before I head with Teo to a book store.
Maybe I can get her books since she’s always has her nose in one when we aren’t around.
“So you wanted to talk to me?” Teo exclaims
Confused I ask, “How’d you know”
He shrugs, “Dunno, but go ahead I want to hear what you were going to say.”
“It’s about BonBon, I’m worried for her.”
