IN LOVE with the ENEMY

Victoria walked into class, coffee in hand, just in time. As the professor started to speak she looked for a seat sighing. The only place left was next to the bain of her existence, Alexander "The Dickhead" Keen.

Alex noticed Vic taking the seat next to him and rolled his eyes. His day was ruined. "Are you ever on time?" he asked. Following with, "If you were you could sit your pretty little ass somewhere else."

If there was one thing Alex wasn't it was a liar. His mama taught him better than that. He couldn't stand The Bitch but she was beautiful. She was around five foot nine with perfect curves, legs for miles and, medium tan skin. Her silky black hair reached the middle of her back. Hazel eyes with a hint of gold around the edges. No she definitely wasn't ugly, just a royal bitch.

Vic retorted with sarcasm, "Awe you think I'm pretty." Then said with an air of agitation, "I would gladly sit anywhere but here. You dick. Some of us have jobs. Sleep is precious." They stopped their bickering when their professor cleared her throat.

The rest of the class went by without incident but the day was just beginning. Another professor had to separate them after Alex insisted Vic needed some ex-lax. To remove the stick from her ass. Then she insisted he jump from the second street bridge in to the Ohio river. They each went their separate ways after a few more jabs at one another.

Victoria and Alexander had met during student orientation. The students were asked to take a few minutes speaking with each other about themselves. It was an attempt to let the students get to know one another.

Vic became offended when Alex said that women should stay home after having children. So, she may have gone too far when she called him a "Retarded,son of a bitch, neanderthal!" To which he responded by referring to her as a "Feminist Bitch!" before saying, "You're lucky I don't hit women."

That was an over reaction on his part but he was just as pissed as she was. From that point on they hated each other. Both attempting to avoid one another. Which was made nearly impossible by the fact that they were in the same class.

That night Vic was at the hospital for her usual shift in pediatrics. When she was called to the emergency room for a major accident. As she entered the waiting room from the elevator. She saw several people with towels and shirts covering injuries. She made her way to the nurses station. Grabbing a chart she headed to room four

Half an hour later she was leaving room seven to drop off a chart at the nurses station when a nurse stepped up to the desk complaining about a patient. "That asshole just threw the blood pressure cuff at me." she said. Vic responded, exchanging charts with her, "I'll deal with this. Please, put my notes in the system, which room?" The nurse told her "Room twelve". She was standing outside the room when she opened the chart. "Dammit all to hell." she said before walking into the room.

Alex had been on his way home from the gym. When a dumb fuck on his cellphone caused a pile up. Now he was in the hospital waiting on a damn doctor to examine him. The nurse walked in. Her eyes lit up when she saw him. 'Not now' he thought. He was used to women checking him out. It had happened often.

He was six foot two with clean cut dusty brown hair and blue eyes. The Army had taught him to keep in shape, so he worked out a lot. Yes he was used to being stared at. He just didn't want to be while he was injured.

The nurse started taking his vitals when the beeping of the heart monitor triggered a flashback. He didn't realize he had thrown the cuff at her until she squealed. Alex was going to apologize when she practically ran from the room.

Vic entered the room looking pissed as always. Though she was one of the few women that didn't stare at him. 'Maybe she's gay' he thought. Vic asked, "What ruining my day wasn't enough you have to come to my work too?" Alex instantly responded, "You're a doctor? Why are you in school?"

She let out an exasperated breath before saying, "I'm not a doctor yet. Which is why I'm in school. If you must know I am a Physician's Assistant. Why are you throwing things at our nurses?" Alex was a bit surprised at her revelation. He had honestly pegged her for a slacker.

"She pissed me off."he said not wanting to give her ammunition. Nor did he want to discuss the flashback he had.

Vic looked him over and said "Well you scared the hell out of her. I'll examine you if it gets you out of here." "You mean you'll kill me."he grunted in pain clutching his left arm. She rolled her eyes, "I'm not going to kill you. Though the thought has crossed my mind."

She finished her exam explaining, "Okay, I'm going to order an x-ray of your arm, blood work along with a M.R.I. of your head." "Why the M.R.I.? I didn't hit my head." he asked. Vic flippantly responded, "You obviously have brain damage." as she left the room.

Alex scowled saying "Bitch" under his breath.
