Chapter 1 [It wasn't that bad]

Blake's POV [It wasn't that bad]

my day goes, as usual, miss Decker, the English teacher gives us an essay to write. I hate essays.

I've never had many friends. I don't need them. I don't need people dragging me along to some useless arcades or cinemas.

I go to my locker and grab my notebook. I stuff my binder and notebook into my backpack and make my way outside with the other students.

As usual, I go to the school parking lot and wait about five minutes before I see a silver car pull in next to me.

"You're late," I tell him as I get in.

"Sorry, baby," Logan says as he starts to drive away from the school. I "Your house or mine?"

"Mine. I have homework." I answer. I know Logan's a good deal older than me but he loves me and I like him a lot. We arrive at my house and I unlock the door.

The whole house is a mess. Clothes on the bedroom floor dishes the sink, books, and magazines on the coffee table.

"Geez, what happened here?" I ask myself as I walk into the room picking up some of the books and putting them on the bookshelf. Logan looks at me and runs his head away shyly.

"I was here while you were at school. I kinda made a mess. I was going to clean it though, promise. I just had to come to pick you up first, that's why I was late. I was cleaning up." Logan says picking up some of the clothes from the bedroom floor. Most of them were his hoodies that I kinda stole from his closet. They were a little too big but I liked them that way.

"Can you do the dishes so I can get my homework done?" I ask him as he hangs the hoodies back into my closet.

"Can you wait to do your homework?" Logan questions.

"I need to get it done." Logan walks into the living room, placing his hands on my waist pulling me close to him. He tilts up my chin, kissing me. I stand up on my tiptoes so I can reach him better, kissing him back. I feel my knees go weak as I lean on him for support. I pull away slightly, to get some air. Logan moves his hand from my waist to my neck, pulling me back to kiss him again. I pull away again.

"Logan... stop I have to do my homework. I can't do this right now." I say trying to pull away from him.

"You always say that. Every single time. Don't you love me?" Logan asks tightening his grip on my waist.

"Of course I do!" I say, Logan digs his nails into my sides. "L-Logan you're hurting me," I tell him wincing at the pain. He's never acted like this.

"Don't lie Blake. You never make time for me. I'm getting tired of it. I love you more than anyone ever will and you treat me like a toy. Only talking to, or kissing me when you feel like it." Logan growls.

"That's not it. I swear. I'm just really busy with school." I explain. Logan rolls his eyes. He pushes me against the wall. Pain shoots through my back. "What the hell?" I shout. He ignores moving his lips down to my neck kissing roughly. I try to push him away but he's almost twice my size so it's pointless. He looks down at me and a smirk forms on his face. He grabs my face roughly with his hand. It hurts. Logan kisses me, I try to turn my head but he's holding me in place.

"Stop struggling baby." He tells me.

"Stop it, Logan. I don't want this. Please get out." I tell him. His eyes widen. He backs away slightly.

"What?"

"I said get out," I repeat. Logan looks at me with shock and then anger.

"You little bitch. Why are you telling me to leave?" Logan asks angrily, slapping me, making me fall to the floor. I feel the tears swell up in my eyes as I hold my hand to my cheek. Logan has never hit me before.

"I-I-I'm sorry." I apologize. He immediately kneels and cups my face in his hands.

"I am so sorry Blake. I don't know why I did that. I didn't mean to hit you or call you a bitch. It just slipped out." He apologizes.

"It's okay. I deserved it anyway." He helps me up and we walk to the couch. He sits down and grabs the TV remote. Maybe he's right. Are we going to slow? He seems annoyed. I walk over to him slowly. He looks up at me.

"What's wrong baby?" He asks.

"Can you hold me?" I ask a blush coating my cheeks.

"Yeah, sure." He reaches out his arms and I climb into his lap. My legs on either side of him, straddling him. I rest my head on his shoulder. He rubs my back gently, it's helping the pain from when he shoved me into the wall.

He's not a bad person, he just gets like that when I don't give him attention. Though it's never been this bad. He's never hit me before.

"Logan, what do you want for your birthday?" I ask him. His birthday is in four days. I want to get him something nice. Hopefully, I have enough money.

"You don't have to get me anything, baby. I'll be turning twenty-three It's okay if I don't get presents. I'm not a kid anymore all I need is to spend my birthday with you." He tells me turning his head and giving me a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Does your sister know you're gay? My parents would murder me if they found out." I say with a nervous laugh, changing the subject.

He hesitates for a moment before answering the question. "...Yeah, she knows. My mom and dad know too. They took it pretty well. Except for my mom. She kicked me out. My dad gave me money to get a new house though. So I guess it turned out well. And nobody has to know about us." He tells me. I nod my head against his shoulder.

He smells nice. Like mint or something like that. He continues to gently rub my back and I fall asleep quickly.

I wake up and look over to see Logan laying beside me on the bed. He must have carried me here last night. My eyes trail down his bareback quickly realizing that he's not wearing pants either. A dark blush flushes my face. I look and see that I'm still wearing all of my clothes from last night except for my shoes.

I get up trying not to wake up Logan. I crawl off of the end of the bed going to the closet and grab one of his big shirts and a pair of my sweatpants.

I head to the bathroom and strip out of my clothes before getting into the shower. I'm about halfway through my shower when I hear the door open. "Logan?" I call as I hear the door close again.

"Yeah, it's me. I woke up and you weren't there, but then I heard the shower water. I just came to see if you were almost done." Logan responds.

"Yeah, I'll be out in a minute," I tell him.

"Okay. Hey, wait, is this my shirt?" Logan asks.

"Yeah is it okay if I borrow it?" I ask him.

"Yeah, I think it looks better on you than it does me." He tells me. I feel a blush creep up on my face. I hear the door open and close again. I finish my shower before putting on my clothes and going to the living room. I see Logan sitting on the couch, running a hand through his dark brown hair.

"Hey, baby. Are you hungry?" He asks.

"No," I respond simply. The truth is I haven't eaten in a while. I've eaten a few snacks and stuff like that, but a meal? No.

"Okay. Come here." He tells me holding out his arms. I smile before going to him and climbing into his lap just like last night. I look into his perfect brown eyes before he kisses my forehead. "It's the weekend what do you wanna do today?" He questions.

I need to get that essay done, but we never spend as much time with each other as we used to. I shrug my shoulders. I'm not good at making choices.

"We'll go to the movies then. That's okay with you, right?" He asks. I nod my head. I hate going to the movies. It's always loud. "Are you sure? You don't look okay." He tells me.

"I'm fine. It just still hurts." I say drawing my hand up to my cheek where he slapped me.

"I already said sorry, baby. We can go somewhere different." Logan tells me.

"Can we just go to the park?" I ask.

"Sure." We both get ready, I put on my black shoes light jeans, and a yellow hoodie over a white T-shirt. I look over to see Logan wearing white shoes, darker jeans, and a dark grey jacket over a blue shirt. We walk together and get into his car. He drives to the nearby park. He parks and we get out.

I look around at the beautiful trees that are bright green and the flowers near the park trail. Logan grabs my hand and leads us on to the trail, we walk for about 10 minutes hand in hand until Logan quickly drops my hand.

I frown and turn to see why. Three girls were having lunch and I could tell they're whispering about Logan. One of the girls smiles at him and Logan winks at her. My boyfriend just winked at another girl... I grab his hand and pull him along. When we get far enough away I let him go.

"What the hell was that?!" I shout at him.

"Why are you so pissed? She smiled at me so I smiled back. It's called being polite. You don't have to be jealous." Logan tells me rolling his eyes.

"I'm not jealous! I saw the way you looked at her! So damn right I'm pissed!" I yell before storming off into the woods that surround the trail. I walk for about 5 minutes, tears streaming down my face, trying to calm down. I turn around only to find that I have no idea where I am. I'm such an idiot.

I hear a rustle in the bushes to my left I turn quickly only to see someone coming from behind them. The sun was setting so I can't see who it is because the trees are blocking what's left of the sunlight.

"L-Logan?" I ask nervously. "T-this isn't funny, Logan." I continue. The rustle stops and the figure approaches me, I step back instinctively.

"I don't know who this Logan guy is but you seem lost." The figure says. It's a man's voice.

"W-who are you? Stay away from me." I call back.

"Kid calm down. My name is River Caster. I live behind these woods and I like to take walks at night. I wasn't expecting to find someone out here. So who's this Logan guy?" The man who calls himself River Caster explains.

"My boyfriend, and he'll kick your ass if you touch me." I threaten. He takes a few steps forward, holding up his hands.

"Woah there, I'm not going to hurt you. So please don't send your boyfriend after me." River says.

I pull out my phone and turn on the flashlight. I shine it in his direction.

His hair's dyed a bright, fiery, shade of red. Too dark to be natural. His eyes are the most beautiful shade of blue I have ever seen.

"What do you want. I don't have a wallet with me if that's what you want." I tell him.

"What? No. I was just wondering if you knew how to get out of the woods it's pretty dark and you look scared." He explains. Oh.

"If you can just point me in the direction of the park then I will be on my way," I tell him. "He reaches out his hand and points to my right.

"It's that way. I can walk with you if you would like." He offers.

"Um sure, thanks." We walk together to the edge of the woods and back onto the park trail. We walk a little longer and I spot Logan sitting at one of the picnic tables near the trail.

He looks up when he hears us. "Blake? Oh my God. Baby, I was so worried! You ran off and I couldn't find you." He tells me, getting up and running over. He looks over at River, glaring at him and he pulls me roughly by the arm getting me away from him.

"Ouch Logan!" I shout.

"Who the fuck are you and why are you with my boyfriend?" Logan asks before turning his attention to me. "Baby, did he hurt you? Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, Logan. Stop being rude to River. You don't even know him so don't make assumptions." I tell him.

"I feel like I should be getting home. Bye, you two. Maybe we can see each other around soon?" River asks.

"Yeah, that'd be nice." Say before we wave goodbye and disappears into the woods. Logan let go of me.

"Who was that? Why were you gone so long? Are you sure he didn't touch you? You can tell me anything, you know that, right baby?" Logan tells me.

"He didn't do anything wrong. And I know." I answer him. He holds my hand as we walk together to the car.
