*gasp for breath*

My eyes felt blurry and I couldn't see very well. As my vision was adjusting everything I had once known to be normal was not. I could smell everything, I could taste the rain, I could feel the cold hard ground.

I was confused about why was I here and what happened? I was getting angrier. Why does that deer look so damn good to eat? I started panting. I felt someone's presence behind me and I turn around.

"ready for your new life?" he says casually.

This wasn't making any sense what new life was he talking about? I look at him with confusion what new life?

"what new life are you talking about Marcello?" I had finally realized It was my childhood friend even though it took me a minute.

"The life of a wolf...Persephone" he said blankly

"I...I what no! there is no such thing as wolves, YOUR KIDDING MARCELLO!"

He walked up to me held me and said coldly. "Yes, you are a part of my pack now. On Friday you will meet with the pack leader and introduce yourself. I am the beta so you will see him a lot. Fair warning he isn't a people person but doesn't worry I'm here for you."

We head towards his car and I start to feel this urge. I want meat so bad It's driving me crazy all my hormones are blowing through the wolf since I'm a new wolf it doesn't make it better. I get in the car and for a while, we drive in peaceful silence.

You already know we wolves cannot turn people into a wolf that's what vampires do obviously.

I looked at him in shock.

"wait there are vampires too!"

he looks at me and chuckles. "yes but we don't see them often because they do their own thing. As I was saying our pack leader took part in an experiment to create a new wolf without being born one. You are mortal as the rest of us because of a new shot that makes us mortal. You're destined for a mate and all of that other stuff that comes with being a wolf so just remember that."

I looked at him with no emotion not knowing what I should say or how I should feel. as more time went by I fell into a peaceful sleep which by the way I did not surrender in.

I felt the car stop but was too exhausted to move or open my eyes. I heard talking outside of the car so It was good I was too tired to open my eyes.

"shh, you will wake her...look this is the girl you gave your blood too and she is apart of our pack"

The man I didn't know spoke. " what is her name?"

"her name is Persephone"

I didn't know this man but I already liked him. He had a deep husky voice and it was so firm but soothing in a way.

I was picked up but by the feeling and touch, it sure wasn't Marcello. Marcello was big tall and bulky but the guy who picked me up felt different. Good different though.

"Ares make sure she comes to see me tomorrow I need to talk to her."

"Okay." he says firmly.

We walk into a building which I'm guessing was a house. we go upstairs and I'm placed on a bed. As soon as I'm placed on the bed "I wake up". I look out the big window near the bed and lookout. I got so lost in my thoughts I didn't hear anyone entering the room and certainly not being so close behind me.

I feel a hand run up my thigh and turn around almost tripping when he catches me.

"uh..hi..hi"

for a long minute which felt like years, we stared into each other eyes.

"Mate" we both said.

I didn't think id find my mate this early and I was scared of a guy like him how could the moon goddess match me with him.

His eyes that were once glowing turned black and cold and he walked away. I felt so hurt and confused why would he walk away I was his mate.

Since he would act like a little bitch to his mate I'm just gonna use clothes from his closet. He was absolutely huge compared to me I mean I may be 5'4 but damn he was 6'5 what the hell. I made do with what he had in the closet and went outside to walk.

I really needed fresh air. I started to run and run without a care in the world. I needed to be free to let loose. My long curly hair flew in the wind and my brown skin glowed in the moonlight. I started to feel happy until I felt a scary presence behind me...
