Intolerance
"She is only 14”, said God to one of his angels. “She has her own tale to tell, a tale that has rendered me speechless; how cruel can the human you created be?” said the angel. God moved towards the girl who was happy in her place. “My dear Child, how did you come here?” said God. The girl didn’t want to tell her tale, as it gave her a bane in her heart, a permanent bane, brought by the cruelties of the human society. “But if you don’t tell me, your bane will be a bane to remember for all of the time.” The girl without any insecurity, started to tell her tale. “My only fault was that I was born in a poor family. I was born in.....”. “No need to say the place child, just say your tale.” said God.” Me being a girl was always deprived of playing with my friends. My mother used to say that my duty was to stay at home and work for my family. All my villagemates went to school, but I was not allowed to. I was the eldest of all the children in our family. I had two siblings, one brother and the other sister. My brother went to school, but my sister was given the same treatment as I was given. I was the eldest, so should take the duty of the family. My father was a drunkard and always bet me after he drank. He would send me to work and I used to earn the money. He used to take away all the money to drink but it always felt short and he bought it on credit. As the credit went high, he was not given liquor. He grew angry at me and sold me and my sister to a roadside hotel owner for Rs 15,000. Thus, started my journey as a child labourer. I was 11 back then and my sister 9. We didn’t get enough food to eat, neither did we get place for a slumber. We used make ourselves comfortable in the roadside. Many nights we had to sleep without any food. The owner of the hotel always physically assaulted me and my sister. He always used to force me to dance under insecured surroundings with the least clothes in my body. And one day I decided to run away. I got on to the train to the biggest city of our state. I landed there. I left my sister there. I have not seen her till date. I was hungry at the railway station. Then a good samaritan picked me and made me eat to the fullest in a hotel. I was happy. Thought that my life was going to change. But it was just a blue moon night. That man sent me to a rich man’s house. I was hoping that I will get to study. The rich man’s building seemed sparkling from outside, but was the darkest from inside, just like it’s owner. It was worse than the roadside hotel. I was bet by him and his wife at everything. They had security guards which didn’t let me run away. They had a son of their’s who was leading a gang of thieves. I saw him stealing his mother’s necklace. After a few days, she couldn’t find it and started enquring me. I said the thing which I had seen but the whole family started assaulting me. And this time, they crossed all the limits and I was killed by lynching. The family burried my body in their piece of land. They are still devoted like Gods. But inside them there is a big skeleton of crime. Child labour have taken up my life. The time in which I should have studied, poverty led me to this horrible crime and now death. But I am much relieved here in heaven as I have no pain in my body.” The Girl ended her story. God was in a shock. He said,”I have heard from many holy souls about many things, but this intolerance and crime being promoted by influential people, is such a shame. The human that I had created, have completely ruined the purpose of me sending them there. Now they kill these small kids for some small things. What can be more saddening than this for a creator!!! They have made a mess of all of the earth. But my dear child you shall live here peacefully in the Paradise of Heaven.”
