Prologue
Start writing here… They say the world is split into two: monsters and saviors. Good and evil. Really, it should be monsters and demons. There is no good in this world. Darkness and death reigns here, it always has. No matter what anyone ever tells me, I’ll believe nothing else.
Society though, it’s split into four categories:
- Humans
- Docs
- Hunters
- Vampires
You read that right, Vampires. The world I’ve grown up in is full of nothing but monsters. The Hunters? Destroy anyone and anything in their path to their goal: kill all Vampires. Vampires, of course, want to rule the world and have all humans bow down to them. Docs, what most would call doctors, but that doesn’t describe everyone in the doc category. No, Docs are blood bags with legs, serving the Vampires and allowing them to be feasted upon. Docs also help Hunters and Humans. Then, the Humans, naïve and innocent to the truth that’s hidden behind the walls of the towers around them.
Lies. Secrets. Bloodshed. Death. Destruction. Love. Lust. Desire.
Where do I stand in all of this? In the middle. In the middle of the whole damn thing. I’m half Hunter, half Doc, the result of a torrid love affair and tossed into the streets because of it. My mother was killed by a Vampire years ago in order to seek revenge because of who my father was. My father, a noble in the ranks of Hunters, disowns me.
What happens when my path crosses that of a Vampire? What will happen when I finally come face to face with my father? And what about my friends that I fight side by side with? Which monster will I become?
