Prologue

I closed my eyes and felt the breeze caress my skin. The small tears dried with the wind; skin felt cold with the contact against my damp cheeks. The numbness in my body slowly took a shift with the utterly beautiful feeling of being alive. Suddenly every problem that danced through my head vanished into the night.

— I haven’t felt this peace in so long.

He looked at me for a second, trying not to lose focus on the empty road as he tried to find the right words to answer my statement. He didn’t say anything and looked back to the front; I think we both knew words were overrated in this specific scenario.

— Do you want to do something crazy? - He said with a daring smirk hiding a bit of doubt that his eyes sparkled

— I’m down for crazy

His side profile looked angelic as the different lights of the city shined through the car.

After a few minutes we got to the parking lot of the airport of the city, I turned my head to him and all I could see was his smile big enough to show his teeth, he looked down before looking at me. His leg was dancing, showing me how nervous he actually was. I stayed quiet waiting to hear an explanation.

— Do you trust me?

Without waiting for my answer, he stood outside of the car, so I followed. He waited for me to be by his side before starting to walk to the elevator in the parking lot. Everything was quiet, not a soul nearby, just me and him.

He took my hand and intertwined our fingers, a small smile formed in my face because I couldn’t help what I was feeling.

— Everything is right when I’m with you, elysian.
