Angel and Devil

Chapter 1

Beep Beep Beep

Damn it dad not this again. I quickly get out of bed and run down stairs. I see my mom with the fire extinguisher putting out the flames. I walk up to my dad and give him a hug.

“Good morning dad.” He kisses my head and smiles.

“Good morning Hazel.” I move away from my father and walk over to my mom. I give her a hug and look at her.

“Mom I thought we agreed to keep dad away from fire and anything hot like the stove.” She smiles and looks at my dad.

“I know I did, but I woke up to him cooking and before I could stop him there was a fire.” I roll my eyes and look at them. I love my family just the three of us. It use to be four until my brother was shunned.

“Hazel why don’t you go get ready for class.” My dad says and I nod and run to my room. So I better introduce myself. My name is Hazel I’m 17. I’m 5’5 and have dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. One more thing I’m an angel. My mother is the angel of nature Ariel and my father if the angel of fire Nathaniel. My brother’s name was Ben but he left us to be with a demon.. I have regular classes today. Which means we learn the same things humans do. We also have angelic classes where we are taught how to be a proper angel, and when we turn 18 are taught our job. We don’t get to choose what we do or who we marry. God chooses all, well he sometimes has help from Gabriell. We do have the ability to go down to earth whenever we want. I run up the stairs and back into my room and look in my closet. Whites, pinks, light blues and purples is all I see when I open my closet. Of course all my clothes are dresses and skirts the angel allowed clothing. I look at my floor where my brother had built me a trap door into another small room which has some less angel like clothing. Jeans, crop tops mini skirts etc… he built it after he had decided he was in love with the demon. He knew that I hate dresses and skirts so he got me a bunch of clothes from earth and snuck them to me. I quickly grab a light purple dress and put it on. I run down the stairs and out the door. I walk down the street when I’m picked up and flung over someone's shoulder.

“I’m really enjoying the view Hazel.” My boyfriend Carter says as I laugh.

“Carter put me down people can see up my dress.” He quickly sets me down and pulls me close. I smile up at him and kiss his cheek. He is possessive which is weird because most angels aren’t.

“So you want to skip school and go down to earth with me and the guys?” He asks me and I smile.

“As long as Lily is coming with.” He nods and and pulls me close to his side. We walk over to the rest of our friends.

“So she agreed to go with us.” They cheer and Lily hugs me.

“Yay earth day!” she exclaims with a smile on her face. I laugh at my best friend and smile. I look around and try not to think about the lecture I’m going to get later. My parents hate me going down to earth. We all walk to one of the side gates of Heaven and sneak out. Normally we would go through the main gate but because we are skipping school we can’t. We close our eyes and teleport down to earth.

I open my eyes and look around. NYC a great place to go in order to skip school. It is a lot harder to track us here. The city is full of so many supernatural creatures that it will be hard to pin point each species. I smile and grab Lily’s hand and take off into central park. We hear the boys shout and chase us and we giggle. We stop once we get to the pond and wait for the boys to catch up. I lean on railing and smile looking at the ducks. I love being outdoors. My favorite place to go is the Amazon Rainforest, I guess that’s thanks to my mom. I feel hands on my shoulders and I smile and turn around.

“Babe we should go see your brother and change clothes.” Carter says and I nod wanting to get out of these clothes.

“I’m gonna take Lily and head to my brothers place. You boys go find some clothes in the shops and meet us there.” He nods and they guys walk towards the shopping district. I grab Lily’s arm and drag her to the closest subway entrance. We swipe our subway cards and head down to our train. We see the doors open to the one we need and quickly rush onto it. Three stops later and we get off. We run out the exit and quickly up to the street above after sensing danger near by. We run down the street and quickly into the front entrance to my brother’s apartment complex. We run till we reach my brothers door and open it. We quickly enter and slam the door behind us.

“BEN YOUR QUEEN HAS ARRIVED!” I yell out into the the apartment. I walk into the living room and see him sitting on his sofa. I see that he already has company and give a small smile.

“Haze what are you doing here? You should be at school.” My brother says with a glare on his face. I take a few more steps towards him.

“I’m here to get clothes to change into. Also you have no room to talk about me skipping school.” He just shakes his head and points towards his spare room. I grab Lily’s hand and drag her into the room. I go over to the closet and start going through the clothes. I grab a pair of skinny jeans and a baggy shirt and toss them to Lily. She smiles at me and starts to change. I dig around and pull out a pair of booty shorts and crop top that ends a few centimeters under my cleavage. Lily rolls her eyes at me with a smile. If only my parents could see me now they’d have a heart attack. I grab Lily and pull her out in to the living room, and walk us over to my brother. I let go of her hand and hug my brother tight. He wraps his arms around me and smiles.

“Hazel I missed you but why do you always dress like this?” He questions me glancing over at the people on the couch. One of them stands up and smirks at Lily and I pull her behind me.

“So Ben you going to introduce us to the two new angels in the room.” The one standing up says. I step in front of my brother and put a smile on my face.

“I can introduce us myself. I am Hazel Ben’s little sister and the girl behind me is Lily. who are you?” He looks me up and down and smirks and does a sarcastic bow.

“My lady, I am offended that an angel wouldn’t know who I am. I am Prince Xavior Dragon Blaze Morningstart, the son of Lucifer. Thats Damon the son of the angel of death”, he points to a boy with darker tan skin, black hair and blue eyes. “That is Micha my fathers right hands son and lastly that is Sam one of my closest friends.” Micha has olive skin with brown hair and brown eyes and Sam has pale skin with blonde hair and brown eye. He obviously is either angel x demon or demon x human.. Now Xavior is really a looker, he has tanned skin, white hair and amber eyes. He is definitely who he says he is. I walk over to Damon and give him a hug.

“Hi little butterfly how are you?” Damon says while wrapping his arm around my waist, and kissing my hair. I hear my brother laughs at the situation. Incase anyone is confused the Angel of Death is neither angel nor demon he is well someone who helps those who have passed go to the right place. So her and her son have been to Heaven multiple times and we’ve hung out. I sit on his lap and rest my head on his shoulder. Xavior walks over and offers me his hand I take it. He pulls my into his embrace and kisses my cheek.

“Well it was very nice to meet you Hazel, or would you rather me call you by something else?” He smiles at me and I feel a shudder run down my back.

“Hazel is just fine.” I say this and kiss his cheek in return. Its a common greeting in both heaven and hell. The door opens and the boys walk in.

“Hazel, Lilly we’re here!” Carter says as they walk in. I try to get out of Xavior’s arms, but he holds on to me tighter and smirks. They walk into the living room and tense up. I freeze and start to panic. My breath speeds up and I start shaking. Xavier starts rubbing my back trying to sooth me. Thats kinda sweet of him to do, but is going to make this situation worse. Carter looks around the room and his eyes land on me. I hold my breath. “Hazel get over now!” He says in a strong voice. I try to pull out of Xavier’s arm and succeed only to be pulled onto Damn’s lap.

“She’s not going anywhere near you Carter. She’s staying right here where I know she’s safe.” I try to squirm out of Damon grip as he says this, but he just holds on tighter. I turn and peck his lips which causes his grip to falter long enough for me to escape. I run over to Carter and hug him trying to play innocent.

“Damon when are you going to learn. I am the son a Gabriel I will alway win. Hazel will always be mine. She’ll be my wife and have my children.” Carter says this and I look down knowing its true. Thats why we are dating his dad had decided that Carter was to be my husband and had gotten the okay.

“Carter if it wasn’t for who your father is she wouldn’t be yours. She would have some choice.” Damon growls out standing up. He goes to walk over to us but Xavier stops him.

“You know my father has a say in fates of all. Ben and his girl was my dads doing. All Hazel has to do is show any disliking to her fate and she will be up for grabs. Or…. I would just have to tell my dad that I want her as a wife. Her line is already tainted due to her brother.” Carter glares at Xavier and that cause him to laugh. “Don’t worry I won’t force her to be mine. I’d rather her choose me.” I blink up at him and shake my head.

“Guys can we not start anything. Tomorrow is my 18th birthday. I just want to enjoy my last day of freedom.” I say this pulling out of Carter’s arms and walk over to my brother. I hug him and start crying. “I’m going to miss you….”

“Don’t talk like that Haz..” I feel him hold onto me tighter. Once I get assigned at midnight I won’t be allowed on earth unless it is for the job I’ve been given. At least until the end of training and even then it will have to be approved. “Maybe you’ll get a job that causes you to be on earth and we could still see each other.” I shake my head only angels of nature get to spend loads of time on Earth. They are closely monitored for many years after that. He kisses my head just as there was banging on the door. Ben and I looked at each other in a panic. I’m tossed a random hoodie and I put it on. By the time I have it on and my hair hidden my friends have disappeared. I hear the door open and panic. I push Xavior onto the couch and climb onto his lap and hide my face in his chest. Hoping that what he is can cover up what I am.

“Ben have you seen you’re sister and her friends?” I hear my dad ask as he walks into the living room. I tense and almost immediately Xavior started rubbing my thighs.

“No Nathaniel I haven’t I’m just hanging out with my friends.” It’s so weird to hear Ben address our father by his first name. I hear my dad get closer and panic and crash my lips onto Xavier’s. He grabs my thighs tightly from shock but kisses me back.

“Okay I’ll get going then if you see her send her home.” I hear dad walk out and the door shut. I go to pull back from Xavier but his hand is on the back of my head holding me there. I hear a loud popping sound and understand why he did that. My father works as an enforcer and they have these mini bombs that causes anything pure like an angel glow bright white. Xavier and I kissing is making me less angelic. We hear someone clear their voice behind me. I feel Xavier smirk into the kiss. He finally pulls back and lets go of my head. I turn and see Carter and blush.

“Hazel why we you just kissing that! Evenmore so sitting on its lap.” Carter says as he storms over to us. He grabs my arm and yanks my off of Xavier. I feel my shoulder dislocate and reach my hand up to grab my shoulder in pain. A tear falls from my eye and I look down at the ground.

“Dude what the fuck! You just hurt her let go!” Damon says as he jumps up and grabs me around the waist and rips Carter’s hand off of me. I turn towards my brother and he’s glaring at Carter. Damon hands me over to Xavier and he holds me close.

“Hun take a deep breath this is going to hurt.” I take a deep breath and he grabs my arm and relocates my shoulder. “There all better now.” He pets my hair trying to sooth me I let out a soft purr at the pets. I hear him chuckle and I blush. “A little kitten are we?”

“Get your hands off of her.” Cater threatens and Xavier lets out a low growl. “Hazel get over here now otherwise I will tell my father of this.” I quickly try to run over to him and Xavier lets me go. Once I get over to him he slaps me across the face and my head snaps to the side.

“I did as you asked why’d you hit me?” I say quietly he just smirks.

“You need to remember your place. I will make sure you will be pregnant as soon as we marry. Which with how long we’ve been together should be anytime now.” I feel tears fall from my eyes and I walk over to Lily and pull her back into the spare room and change back into my angel clothes and teleport back to heaven
