Til Death Do Us Part

"The strongest impression I got from this work was the sophisticated writing. I must admit the cover and the title made me expect a macabre, Tim-Burtonesque tale but, just as the story is tagged, this is a romantic thriller. The prologue was a bit long-drawn-out and became pure slasher-film trope, but then if the message is anti-domestic abuse then I'm all for the premise of this story. Besides, there's nothing more disturbing than a person you thought you knew (a spouse) turning into a homicidal maniac. The chapter about the Evans family might seem like going off on a tangent but I'm sure, as with most thrillers, setting up a peaceful, very-much-like-your-own-life characters adds contrast to the tension that would come later. In line with this, I hope to read a more subdued and psychological tale, as some romantic thriller movies about domestic couples effectively tell."
