The Perfect Moment
“Honey i’m home” Jen called from the front door
“In here, beautiful dinner is almost ready” Grace replied standing over the kitchen stove, listening to the music she was playing in the living room.
Jen hangs up her coat, takes off her shoes and heads to the kitchen. Wrapping her arms around Grace as she stirs the homemade chili she’s been whipping up. “Smells great”
“Thank you”, Grace turns to face Jen, giving her a gentle kiss, “How was work, did you win your case?” Grace asked, referring to Jens job as a lawyer for troubled teens.
“Yes actually, she got parole and community service, but the judge agreed that the living arrangement she was in, had a lot to do with the way she was acting out, and now that she's is in a better home, he agreed to not give juvie time”
“omg that great, congratulations''. “Grace replied, giving Jen a hug, and a kiss on the cheek. Dance with me?..” she grabs Jens hand and brings her to the living room, wrapping her hands around her neck, with Jens placed along her hips as the sway side to side, wishing that moment could last forever.
Just as the song the two were dancing too, ends, Jen stops, dropping to one knee and pulling out a little box, containing Grace’s dream ring, a small stone . “ I was going to wait until the ‘perfect moment’ to ask you this, but any moment with you is perfect to me and I want to spend all of my life, making more moments with you by my side so Grace Elizabeth Hawk, will you marry me..?”
Grace giggles and drops down on one knee, pulling out a small box, containing Jens dream ring, a small little diamond. “I was thinking the exact same thing”
the couple chuckled, placed the rings on each other's finger, and enjoyed their perfect meal, and the rest of their perfect night.
