Chapter 1

After moving away from Wisconsin, I decided to change my own destiny and just move to New York, I rented out a small apartment above a bar, it may not sound like the best but it was in my price range, and out of all the other options, it was the best one. A few family members from my dad's side live there but I never met them before in my life. Except for my aunt Jessie, I met her back in December 5 years ago, she's alright but just a little crazy. I remember the time when she came over for thanksgiving and brought over a gardening hose for some reason, apparently it’s “good for the economy”, whatever that even means. I actually like my aunt Jessie, for my 18th birthday, which was 3 years ago, she took me to vegas, that is a whole story in itself.

“Where are you off to Miss?” An old woman (roughly in her 50s) came and sat next to me, she had honey eyes that sparkled with youth despite her age. “New York ma’am.”

“Oh! Me too, I’m going to see my son, he’s gotten himself into some drama, so mother dearest has to go over and give him some order in his life,” she sighs and shakes her head.

“Doesn’t sound like it’s the first time,” she chuckles and nods her head in agreement. The train arrives in New York, we both say our goodbyes and turn to our separate paths. For a stranger she was very open and friendly, most old women are grumpy or closed off, which is understandable.

“What’s a pretty woman like you doing walking around at this time?” I turn around and see a tall man who looks about 29 with blond hair and blue eyes. “Sir it’s 10pm and that’s none of your business.” He smirks and runs his hand through his hair. “Relax, it’s just a question, no need to be so rude,” I quickly looked at him up and down, judging him with my eyes and turned around to leave. He shouts something as I leave but I couldn’t hear him and nor do I want to. What a weirdo.

I just arrived in New York and weird things happen already. I’ll just let it pass, I have to find my new apartment as well so it doesn’t matter I guess. The landlord said to take the bus to get there because it’s quite a long journey, they said to take the 69 bus. The bar is called, the star and dust, a lot of people go there, so I’m guessing it’s a good bar, or it has cheap drinks.

He said that there’s a lot of bus stops for the 69 bus so I should have no issue with finding the bus. I walked further down the road and within minutes I found a bus stop.

A black car parks across from the bus stop on the other side of the road, a tall man with dark hair and a tuxedo steps out of the vehicle with 3 body guards. Everyone stares and starts whispering, “Oh my god it’s Armano Saint…” I look over and make direct eye contact with him. He looked at me with a stone cold expression but glared at me at the same time, I rolled my eyes and looked around for the bus. Why are the busses so late? I should’ve gotten a cab or something, for god's sake.

After a few minutes of waiting the bus showed up, the door opened and I got the hell in because it was freezing outside , I got my ticket and sat further back in the bus. I look out the window one more time and I see him still looking at me, *WHAT* I mouthed, he didn’t reply back, he carried on staring. The bus started moving and everyone sat down, before he was out of my sight, I stuck up my middle finger, it may seem extra but he was glaring at me for no good reason. What a weird guy.
