Attention to Details

"My comments are perhaps less of a review or criticism than an analysis. I enjoyed reading this and spent some time mulling it over for myself, drawing my own interpretation, asking why it meant something to me. The single word "Listen" is italicized. Pay attention. Think about what the word means. Pause and actually... listen. Peace and loneliness are contrasted and compared, like two sides of one coin, like a double-edged knife. Each shares qualities with the other. The sun is high, the breeze is cool; physical sensations but rather ordinary in this context, maybe even unimportant. A ticking clock, solitude, silence, being alone, themes which would be uncomfortable to most people, but here... there's more. Something valuable, something important, but intangible. A feeling that transcends what might otherwise be challenging. There's a price for contemplation. A pain to meditation. Enlightenment is hard. A hint perhaps of the collective nature of all things, quiet and only heard with effort, and even then more an emotion. We are at the center. Thank you for something so compelling and thought-provoking. "
