Part 1
My eyes opened to a dark space where tiny blue, purple and pink lights emitted from my feya floating about. I struggled to sit up; hunched over looking at my hands. My skin has gotten considerably more lucid... I stretched out my neck and shoulders as I hoisted myself out of my comfy moss nest. My body felt terribly heavy as I trudged my way over to the crystal clear moon pluvial. My feya children helped me along the moss trail into the water. I collapsed there staring out at the breathtaking flora scenery with half opened eyes. Soaking in the moon water gave me some of my strength back, but it wasn’t enough to keep me here forever. I looked at my feyas worried faces.
“Don’t worry my children...” I soothed them with a hoarse voice. “Today I will set out again.” I gently scooped up my feya to kiss them gently. “I have much more time left.” I spoke words of hope but I knew the reality of my existence was becoming nothing more than a wisp of breath. I needed to find Zephyr’s reincarnation before I was erased completely; or my feya and our connection to our mother earth would cease to exist.
I shoved my worries aside, stumbling to my feet, regaining my balance.
I nodded towards my feya as they flew over with clothes to adore my weakened body. They carefully helped me into a beautiful midnight blue dress that sparkled ever so slightly in the moon’s light. It was a gift from Jasper having it wove herself from her luminescent silk. I stood on the moss next to the moon pool staring up towards the cavern’s exit taking in a deep breath. I was ready to travel to the mortal world. I issued over our first feya Zephyr and I had created together; Rhodo. They fluttered over with a face full of care and anxiety. My heart ached for my children as I knew they worried a great deal, and I couldn’t provide them with the security in which I had promised. “If I don’t return, you know what to do.” Rhodo nodded, handing me a nectar pod for me to drink. I looked into their eyes as they stared towards me deeply, I brought them up to my lips as I gently kissed their tiny purple head. My last chance to find Zephyr in a different realm has now begun, this time I needed to be sure to bring him home with me.
I stumbled around in a snow frozen unfamiliar woods for what seemed like hours; I was starting to worry. The human world became much louder than I remembered, and the artificial light source was much too bright for it being the night. I plopped in the glistening snow catching my breath, this realms night scene that the humans had produced made me very nauseated. Moments after sitting in the snow my ears perked as I heard crunching footsteps from a creature close by. I jolted up running closer to the footsteps, hiding behind a tree, peeking out curiously. It was a human. They were alone wandering about the woods calmly. They were a shorter human wearing heavy cloth trudging through the deep snow. I shuffled a bit in the snow to try to get a better look.
“Hello?” The stranger spoke with a confident soft voice, staring my way. I gasped but remained where I was. That’s him... I reached out my hand towards the stranger… “I see you. Please state your business here.” Tears began welling up in my eyes as my soul begged for this stranger to run over to hug me. I knew without a doubt that this human was the reincarnation of my love; Zephyr. I needed to bring them home. I moved my foot out from behind the tree to start heading their way. But to my surprise the human turned to start walking away from me. My heart dropped as I started to run after them in panic. Please come back! I tripped into the snow coughing and shaking as my body was failing to carry me to them. I watched their silhouette quickly disappear over the frozen hill. I could not give up. Standing slowly to try and gather my strength, I quietly followed after them, tracing their footsteps of hope that they left in the snow.
