Great young adult fiction

"I read the first three chapters of this story and have really enjoyed it so far. You set up a lot of things plot-wise to keep the reader engaged -- the quiet, studious girl with the seizures, the abusive mother, the dreamy-eyed boy. From the beginning, you do a great job keeping the reader engaged. I think that the protagonist is great, you sympathize for her and she's not just two-dimensional. I thought that a lot of the characters and elements of the story were a bit stereotypical, just what you'd expect in the story of a high school girl. I think that you can make it work if you add layers beneath the clichés, but as it was, it was a bit too much of the expected. I think the character that I found most interesting was the mother's character, just because I don't quite understand her yet and I want to know more about her history and motives. Something that I noticed about the writing was that I loved the way you ended the chapters. They always left me wanting to go to the next chapter, and that's a great thing to employ in your story. The writing itself was very good. I don't think I noticed a single typo going through, and it had very good imagery. I want to see how it turns it. This is great work so far. Good luck in the contest!"
