How I Remember You

"Wait here." You said.

"Ill be back." you said

So I waited.

In the dress you bought me.

At the place we met.

... But you never came.

"I love you." you said.

"I'll prove it." you said.

So you took me to the movies...

But now I'm sitting here alone.

You lied.

"It's just war." they said.

"It'll be over soon." they said.

So you trusted them and left.

With love and memories you left me.

With memories and notes, I remember you.

"I'm scared." you said.

"Help me." you said.

So I stayed by your side.

I sang while you died.

We hugged, and I cried.

"I'm sorry." you said.

"I tried." you said

And I believed you.

I really did.

So we kissed and I cried.

You left me broken and breathless, but I wouldn't give that up for the world because you no matter the pain I'm in you still gave me so many happy memories.
