Chapter 1

"Aye! Alright, my turn!!!!!!!!"

"No! Let's kick some tables, right now."

"You kick asses, dumbass"

"But I want to kick tables nowwww"

Everybody was having the best time of their lives except for this one girl sitting in the corner of the room, tapping on her phone every once in a while. If it wasn't for the blinking of her eyes, anybody could've mistaken her for a statue.

Except, statues don't carry real cellphones.

"Amberrrr?!!!! " Came a scream from across the room.

She sighed and got up from her seat.

Rolling her eyes, she walked to her drunk friend. Reaching from the one end to the other end of the room seemed like an impossible task as a number of drunk kids were literally falling over one another. After a round of dodging, pushing and kicking tens of them, she finally heaved a sigh of relief as she reached her bestie, Nickie.

Nickie was now lying dead on the couch, her mouth drooling.

"I hate her for this," Amber frowned and slapped really hard on Nickie's arm, in order to wake her up. On seeing no reaction on Nickie's face, she inhaled a deep breath, placed Nickie's one arm around her ( Amber's) shoulder, wrapping her another arm around Nickie's waist, making sure she wouldn't fall on the way.

Fortunately, they made it to the car. She opened the back door and pushed Nickie right in.

But, the task didn't end there.

The main concern as of then was, who was going to drive?

The designated driver was lying unconscious in the car. She couldn't call Uber, as her father was going to flood her with hundreds of questions about what happened to their car. Wait, he would've found out that they went to a party! No! She couldn't have let that happen.

There's got to be some other way...

Every passerby looked like a stranger. She had never in her life seen those kind of people. The Cool Kids. The "let's get drunk and not give a damn about our parents" kids. The "who cares about school" kids. A convention she'd never want to become a part of.

The last thing she ever wanted was a stranger abducting her and her drunkard friend.

She stood there, looking for someone responsible, someone who didn't look the part.

And...

"Hey?" Entered a beautiful sound in Amber's ears.

She now turned her eyes to the left, to look at the man who had addressed her..... And, W-O-W! She couldn't believe her eyes for once.

A man with a perfect silhouette stood before her, his hands in his pants' pocket. He wore a black shirt with a pair of formal black pants. He definitely didn't look the part. He looked way too simple for their fancy convention.

She couldn't make out his face because of the poor lighting but all she could tell was, the guy was her type.

With her mouth agape, she kept looking at him, and admiring his charm. Until...

"What? Am I an alien or what?" He said in a confused tone, raising his brows.

"I - I, umm, well, no. Absolutely no. You're.. Do I l know you?" Perfectly done, Amber. How much I admire your confidence, sometimes.

"Wow. I didn't intend to scare you like that, " He cleared his throat, his eyes still blinking in confusion, "I was wondering if you'd maybe drop me to my place. I, actually...my friend ditched me and I lost my phone so Uber's not an option. So, would you?" He was now looking down, scratching the back of his head.

God loves me, doesn't he?

"I wouldn't mind but actually, my friend's passed out and I don't know how to drive.... Maybe, you could drop us home and then I'll get you a taxi from there. What say?"

On the surface, Amber looked so calm and composed while on the inside, she was literally jumping and praying for his agreement. She didn't even know his name. She didn't even know what kind of person he was but did she care? Hell, no!

All she could think of him was as a life saver, an angel sent by his dear God.

How could she blow this opportunity away?

"Alright! Cool. Let's go, then," He said, flashing a very friendly smile at her.

And.....That's it!

That's how Miss Amber Davis lost the last of her brain cells for a stranger.
