Chapter I |School|
[Alexanders’ POV]
School. Yup, you heard it right, school. If you told me I had to return to school at the age of 20, I would’ve laughed in your face. If you told me it was because people were messing with my sister, I’d tell you that she wouldn’t let herself get messed with AND laugh in your face. If it were my sister who told me with a serious face, a stern tone, and that it was by human BOYS, I would’ve broken a couple of necks. That’s what happened, except the broken necks.
So here I am, getting ready for school. Wait, hold up, that’s not how stories work, introduction first: My name’s Alexander Black, I’m 20 and as you know, I have a younger sister, well, siblings to be exact, but that’s for a later time. Now, when I was calling other ‘humans’, let’s just say I am no human, I don’t have anything against them though. Anyways, I’m an Alpha, with no Luna, but I had to take over for my severely ill father, which was rare considering us werewolves -yes, ‘us’ and ‘werewolves’ there are more of us- don’t normally get ill out of nowhere without reason and if we do there is always a chance we will soon recover.
Back to the school part. I’m going back to school because some human boys were messing with my sister; trust me when I call them boys it’s because it seems that they can’t prove to be men. My sister is, let’s just say she’s tough, even tougher than a couple of older males in our pack. Oh, right, I forgot to mention my pack’s name, well the pack’s named the Bloody Sea, it’s called that because our pack fought for power on the land that was promised to us by our ancestors. There was a lot of blood, a lot. Another reason is that we’re located right on the border of the forest and the sea, you can see the front of the house from the forest side, the beach is like our backyard.
As I was getting in my car, I didn’t notice Lavender, my sister, already in the passenger seat. Considering that I was a werewolf and all my senses were enhanced, I hadn’t noticed her though, until she spoke up.
“Took you long enough,” she said before breaking out into an uncontrollable fit of laughter at my terrified expression.
“Jesus, Lavender. You scared the shit out of me.” I say glaring at her as she continues laughing her ass off.
She stopped laughing and wiped a tear out of the corner of her eye. “Aww, no ‘Happy Birthday’?” she asked as I started up my car. That’s right, it’s her birthday, her sixteenth birthday to be exact, that also means she has the possibility of finding her mate. Good thing her sixteenth was on the first day of school because she can use up most of the school seducing her mate to mating and such, also there are going to be a couple of new students that might be her mate. Damn, how lucky he is. One: she can seduce ANYBODY, and two, she has a higher chance with all the new students and all.
“Happy Birthday,” I say bitterly.
“I don’t think even Sour Heads can be your sour attitude,” she said scoffing then rolling her eyes at me when I didn’t give her a response.
Once we arrived at school, I found a spot near the front of the school. “We’re here,” I announced before shutting my door and waiting for Lav to do the same. Locking my car doors, I start walking towards the school with Lavender by my side.
After a few moments, we both stopped and simultaneously turned in the same direction. there was the most beautiful boy I had ever seen standing next to another guy looking like they knew each other more than just classmates.
I thought they turned to look at us, then I remember we were standing in front of the school. Oh, how right I was cause it looked like they were looking right past us.
‘That’s him,’ says Lavender through our private mind link.
‘The ones that were messing with you, or what?’
‘No, the one who saved me and my mate.’
‘Which one?’ I asked her.
‘The good-looking one.’ she says in a ‘duh’ tone.
‘He’s so cute. He’s adorable actually’ I said, thinking she was talking about the cute little guy next to the other guy with a sharp jawline.
‘No, not Hunter,’ oh, so Hunter’s his name, that’s interesting. He looks like his name could be Charley or Charlie, maybe some other cute sounding name.
‘Maybe he’s as feisty as his name sounds, in bed.’ said Alec, my wolf.
‘Oh now you decide to talk, and please don’t make me think about it like that, I just learned his name.’ I said letting him go back to the back of my mind where he had his own little space, he was still always there but not as close to the surface that he would basically have all control.
‘I’m talking about Christopher, he’s my mate.’
‘Are they human?’ I ask her, getting curious.
‘I think so. The rest of us who come here do too. They don’t exactly hang out with us. If they did we’d probably know.’ she informed me. ‘If they were, they are good at hiding it. They even avoid Zachary, Ivory, and the rest of them. Even me, all I want to do is talk to them since they defended me and all, but they seem to also want to avoid me. It might be because Ivory is my best friend and the rest of them are also my friends, and I spend a lot of my time with them, so they might think I wanna get in their pants. I don’t get why they think the group is like that, we have mates and all so we mostly save ourselves,’ she said, causing me to look at the pair once again.
I hear laughter come from the Christopher guy causing a couple of heads to turn to them apart from us.
I strain my ears to try and listen to what their conversation is about.
“...you still love me.” says the Christopher guy. I only heard that part before getting a little mad. This causes me to growl lowly and Lavender to try to calm me down.
“I’m starting to reconsider.” says my adorable mate before entering the school, before we got there, considering we were closer to the front of the school we started to hurry up before the humans noticed anything off.
‘Don’t do that in public, Alexander. Unless, you know...’ says Lavender.
‘It just got on my nerves. I’ll try not to do it next time.’ I said giving her a hug before opening the door for her and letting her in. Walking in myself I saw my little mate walking in the opposite direction of the office. I guess I’ll have to catch up to him later, but now I have to make sure my uncle knows I’m here. My uncle was the principal. He asked me to meet with him when I got to school so he could start checking out the cameras to be able to stop me when it came to jackasses trying to claim the top dog title, that would, of course, mean he knew I wouldn’t hesitate to fight back.
“See you in class,” said Lavender teasingly as she headed to her locker. Right, I had to stay in all of my sisters’ classes so I could watch out for her. After that, I headed towards my uncles’ office. I already knew my schedule and locker number so as soon as I got out of his office I planned to go straight to my locker then straight to class.
No such luck.
