Love is a Game

I finish fixing my strawberry blonde hair just as Charlotte enters with a grin on her face.

“You look gorgeous. I just got a huge offer. The producers of Love is a Game are doing a sequel and they want you back” Charlotte says. I jump up.

“Of course!” I agree. Love is a Game helped launch my career.

“I’ll call the producers and tell them. You should tell the fans” Charlotte says as she exits the room. I snatch up my phone and head out to the balcony. It has the best lighting this time of day. I hit begin livestream.

“Hey guys. I got huge news, the producers of Love is a Game are doing a sequel and they want me! I already agreed. They launched my career, I’d do anything for them. I’ll update once I know more. Love you guys!” I say then hit end livestream. A bunch of comments pop up on my phone. Things like OMG, You Rock and Awesome! I smile, my fans are fabulous.

“Is this true Tess?” I hear behind. I turn and standing there is Jack, my boyfriend. He’s holding his phone out with my livestream.

“Well?” he asks.

“Yeah, isn’t it great?” I reply, beaming. I drop my smile. His face is upset.

“Great? You realize that the whole point of that show is finding you a guy? You already have me. I can’t believe you” Jacks voice is furious. I get mad back.

“We’ll still be together. It's just for publicity. Plus it could boost my career as an actress” I shout.

“Just for publicity? We met on that show. Am I just publicity? You always think about yourself and nobody else” he yells. Then he turns and storms out. I stand there dumbstruck for a moment. Suddenly the sun is too much. I walk inside and flop on the couch. Jack is just being stupid. I love him. He knows that. I wish he would be happy for me. Charlotte walks in.

“Tessa, I have more information about the show. Look over this. They will send the script over later today” she hands me a packet. I smile.

“Thanks, Charlotte. I’m gonna go to my room and read over this” I tell her. I stand up and walk to the elevator. I press the button for the top floor, my private suite.

The elevator doors open. I look around at the gorgeous furniture. My life is perfect. Jack will realize he’s wrong and come apologize. I change into a cobalt blue tank top and harbor gray sweatpants. I sit down on my bed and lean against all the pillows. I pull out the packet Charlotte gave me. Filming starts in 10 days.

Interesting. They changed some stuff. Now the show is gonna follow two girls that both have suitors vying for their hearts. The other girl is Mimi Alvarez, a famous Youtuber. I watch her channel. I can’t wait to meet her. We will get to hangout while the men do challenges and stuff. I look back at the paper. The men choose which girl the are going to try for. I check the time. 5:30pm. I walk downstairs for dinner.

I hear the doorbell and I rush downstairs. I wrench the door open and sure enough Beth is standing there. I let her in and we head to the living room.

“I have great news Mimi. They’re making a sequel to Love is a Game and they want you. They made changes to it so now it’s gonna follow two girls. You and Tessa Black. Are you in?” she talks so fast. I nod my head. I watched Love is a Game. It is such a great show. And I would get to meet Tessa Black. OMG. I am such a huge fan of her.

“Totally!” I shout, giving Beth her answer and probably broken eardrums. My mom walks in.

“What is going on in here?” she asks. Beth fills her in because I’m so excited I can barely breathe. My mom turns to me. I pray that she says I can though I doubt she will.

“Last night your father and I decided that to help your dreams that we are moving to L.A. I give you my permission” my mom tells me. My mouth drops open. I’d been asking to move to L.A. for ages. I don’t know what to say so I smile and grab my mom in a hug. She hugs me back. I am so grateful.

“Our flight to LA is in two days. Tomorrow you should say goodbye to friends and visit places that you won’t see for a while. Start packing. I need to discuss a few things with Beth” my mom says. I give her another quick hug. Then I rush upstairs. I see that mom already put boxes out to pack stuff in. I bring the boxes in my room.

“We’re going to LA!” the twins shout, running into my room. I laugh. They are such goofballs. I bend down next to them.

“You two should go pack your things” I advise them. They look at me. Eve smiles at me.

“OK Big sis” Lily says. They both run out of the room as energetically as they entered. I turn to my bookshelf. I pack all my favorites first: Lord of the Rings(though it is incredibly long), The Princess Bride, The Golden Compass, and The Joy of Falling. Then I pack the rest of my books and magazines. I go through all my shelves and pack stuff. My phone beeps. My friends are inviting me to a FaceTime. I click accept. I see Rina, Miles, Jemma and Mia.
