Emma

I sighed upon reading the text I received from the man I was seeing. Another breakup. Well I didn't care. He wasn't my true mate so I would live. Not like I wanted to find him anyway. I liked being free to do whatever or whoever I wanted. Some said that I was probably too free. Was there such a thing as too free? Could a woman not do what she wanted without fearing the consequences? That was how I chose to live.

I called my best friend Louise to tell her the news. That would be fun. She hated most of the men I was dating. Wasn't it the role of your best friend though? I thought it was. We bad mouthed each other's boyfriends with a glass of wine. That was life.

"Chuck the dickhead broke up with me". I said as soon as she answered.

"That idiot. I didn't like him anyway. Does that mean we're hitting the bar tonight?" She asked eagerly.

"You got it bitch! Let's lose some control." I chuckled.

"I'll pick you up in 10."

"Make it 30. I'm not dressed."

"You got it."

I hung up and started searching through my closet. I chose a short black dress with a big cleavage so everyone could see Mother Nature was generous with me. I put on red high heels and light makeup. I was going to drink a lot tonight! I felt like celebrating the night away. It was always epic with my partner in crime too.

Louise parked her car in the alley and entered. Her hazel eyes locked on my light green ones as she smiled. She was beautiful my best friend and I wondered how in the world were two hot she-wolves like ourselves still single. Males had dirt in their eyes really.

"Bitch you look good." She smirked.

"You too. Let's go!" I said happily.

She wore a pale pink dress with nude pumps. It complimented her strawberry blond hair so well. I had braided my sandy blond hair into a fishtail and she had done the same hairstyle. Birds of a feather huh or should I say fish here? Whatever, we were gorgeous.

She drove her car to Fangs, our base when things went wrong in our lives. In this bar, you could drink and dance the night away. It was perfect. No matter if you were high ranked in the pack or a submissive. It worked for everyone even humans.

Once on site, we sat at the counter and ordered shots. The bartender was more than happy to oblige, his eyes fixed our breasts and I rolled my eyes at him. I was a dominant so I wasn't scared to let out a growl. Dick. I didn't come here so you would look at my breasts when I needed a drink.

Some guys sat down next to us and tried to chat but we dismissed them. Those males were clearly after one thing and we weren't interested, not tonight at least. I just broke up with my boyfriend after all, give me a break. We drank our glasses and chatted until I wanted to dance. Louise had the same idea because she said.

"Let's dance!"

"Yeah!" I nodded.

We walked to the dancefloor and we started moving our bodies to the music. It felt good to think about nothing but the music and to move my body. I needed that, simplicity. Think about nothing and just enjoy the moment. I felt two hands on my waist then a man whispered in my ears.

"You look good."

"Back off if you don't want to lose your hands." I said.

"Feisty. I like that."

"Don't test me or I will bite off something you will surely miss."

He let go of me and growled. I growled back and it seemed to surprise him. Didn't you think a female would bark back at you? Well, you were going to be in for a ride. Louise put her hand on my shoulder to turn me around.

"Let it go. He isn't worth it." She said.

"You're right."

I took her hand in mine and we resumed our dancing. Some boy offered us glasses but we refused. I didn't want to accept a drink from someone I didn't know. What if it was spiced? We could never be too careful.
The clock finally hit 4 in the morning so it was time to return home. I was feeling bad because of the alcohol but Louise was worse. She was clearly swaying indicating that she was in no shape to drive. That was ok, we had a lot of stamina and it wasn't the first time we would be walking.

"I guess we're walking." I said.

"You bet we are."

I took her hand in mine and we started walking when I heard a man's voice behind me. They would never leave us alone. Can't women just go home drunk? Geez.

"We can drive you home." He said.

"Not interested. Go save some other girls." I sighed.

He laughed and I had to admit that it was a nice sound. I liked when male voices were deep and his was deep and clearly pleasant. I could feel that it was powerful too. A ranked guy? Odd.

"I couldn't let pretty girls walk home in those shoes." He said.

"You're going home alone tonight."

I replied without turning around. I took off my shoes and so did Louise before we resumed walking. He caught up to us though and grabbed my arm. I twisted his arm until he was on his knees. You got the wrong girl if you thought you could just grab me however you wanted. Seriously what was his problem? I had been nice or so I thought.

"What don't you understand? Back off you fucking moron. We aren't interested and I don't care that you think you're a gentleman. You're pushy and no means no." I growled at him.

He turned his green as grass eyes to me and that was when my wolf howled in my head. No fucking way. This couldn't be happening right now.
