Chapter 1
Running is all I could do. That's what I do best. He can't get me I won't let him. I can hear the footsteps of the men chasing me. They were getting closer. The only thing I can think of doing is climbing. I choose the closet tree for me and the startup. I quickly make it to the middle part of the tree. But the people are now right below where I just was. My heart is beating so fast. I am sweating even though it is freezing outside. I try to calm my racing heart as the men below look everywhere for me.
"We can smell you, sweetheart. We know you are here." The one man says. I'm praying silently hoping they don't look up. I don't dare move a muscle. "Cammi baby we can hear your heartbeat come out we won't hurt you." These men are crazy. My smell? My heartbeat? They can't possibly hear or smell anything I'm too far up and away from them. They are human after all right? Of course, they are there isn't any such thing as anything other than human. Well obviously there are animals but these people are men. Suddenly my foot slips making a loud skid sound as my boot scrapes against the tree bark. The men look up in sync. "There you are baby come on down." The man said. He was a lot taller than the rest. He was also a lot stronger or so it seemed. He had hair black a night. And I really could make out the rest of his features from so far up above him.
"Screw you!" I screamed. Climbing higher.
"You want to play the hard way I see. Alex." The man said. Before I knew it a man was climbing the tree rapidly. Faster than humanly possible. I climbed faster hopping to out climb him. I soon reached the top with nowhere to go I start to freak out. Trying not to look down knowing I'm far from the ground. The man inches closer.
"Leave me alone!" I scream to all of them. Holding onto the tree branch for dear life.
"I'm afraid we can't do that. You see the man down there his name is Ethan and you are his mate. He will stop at nothing to get you. And you have to choice but to live with it." The man named Alex said as he grabbed my arms pulling me away from the tree and into his arms. I kicked and screamed but couldn't get out of his grasp.
"Let me go!" I screamed.
"Well if I let you go you fall to your death and then I die. So not an option." Alex said and he held me closer jumping down to the ground. He's going to kill us both. I held onto him tightly and shut my eyes my heart ready to pound out of my chest. 10 seconds later the cold wind stopped and I was handed to someone else. I opened my eyes quickly looking around. We were on the ground safely and alive. I looked back up at the tree that I was just in. It had to be at least 30 feet tall. How did we get all the way down without dying? My heart still racing I started to come to my senses. I was with men I didn't know and a strange man was holding me. Alex said his name is Ethan. I looked up at the man. He had as I said before dark as night hair. With piercing blue eyes and a sharp Jawline. Pink medium-sized lips with a normal-sized nose. He was truly beautiful. He smiled when I looked at him showing his dimples and white teeth. I looked away. He may be beautiful but for all I know he could be a murderer.
"Let me go," I demand surprised at my calm voice.
"I told you before dear. You are mine and you can't get away from me so no I will not let you go." The man answered and started walking three other men including Alex followed.
"This is kidnapping this is illegal let me go you will go to jail!" I screamed kicking and throwing my arms around. My foot collided with Ethan's lower section and he groaned in pain letting go of me. I scrambled to my feet and ran.
"Are you ok?" I could hear Alex ask.
"Yes I'm fine," Ethan said and then there was silence. I stopped and turned around. There was no one there. What? Where did they go? Oh well, at least they are gone. I have to get out of here. I turned around and ran into a brick wall. A brick wall? In the middle of the woods? That doesn't make sense. That's when I realized it wasn't a brick wall but a man's chest.
"Cammi, you didn't think it was that easy did you?" Ethan asked. I sighed. Why can't this man leave me alone?!
"What the hell! Can't you take no!?" I screamed trying to get into his face but he was much taller than me. He chuckled swinging me over his shoulder and continued walking. Alex and the two other men followed behind us which meant that if I had tried to run away from Ethan in the other direction I would have run into them. I rolled my eyes. I decided I should settle down even though I could be on my way to my death. I can't survive if I'm all worked up. I put my head down in defeat and slowly drifted asleep. I know what you are thinking. Why am I falling asleep when I could literally be on the way to dying? Well, Ethan smelled extremely good. And even though he scared me it was something about his smell that calmed me. I was also really tired from running from them for the whole day. I needed my rest if I was going to get away alive.
