Overture

Not long ago, I was in Las Vegas for a get-together with my party loving sister. It was definitely nothing like my native town of Saint Louis, which was good and not so good. As a devout Christian, I refuse to take part in activities beloved by Vegas natives, such as drinking, smoking, clubbing, and most of all, gambling.

However, I couldn't help but indulge in some of the city's more innocent pleasures. The Stratosphere offered an amusement park experience I'll never forget, and the shows were like nothing I've ever seen. But, one experience stood out over all the rest: my encounter with the great street magician, Zeus.

I first met Zeus when walking back to my hotel after dinner one night. His performance was situated in front of a CVS in front of Treasure Island. I knew when I first saw him he was no ordinary magician.

"Step right up and see the stories these ordinary 1990's electronics have to tell! Only $20 guarantees you the experience of a lifetime!"

Sure, I thought it was a scam, but seeing as I never gamble, I had some cash to spare, so why not see what this is all about?

I walked up to the stage and handed Zeus a note with the face of Andrew Jackson. Zeus then handed me an old Sony Watchman from around 1998. He then instructed me to raise the antenna and turn the TV on. As I did so, the device's story began to unfold...
