Summary

Loosely historical fiction about a romance between Gwendolyn, the queen of one kingdom and future queen to a second, and Mathias, reluctant heir to the throne of his own country, the residents of which are threatening rebellion against the crown. As a result, Mathias is sent to pose as a commoner in a small village in the countryside - where he meets Gwendolyn, who has been raised without any knowledge of her royal status and believes herself to be an ordinary girl. The pair quickly develop romantic feelings for each other but are hesitant to make a move lest they fall victim to the cruel judgement of their town’s social hierarchy. The resultant relationship must be conducted with the highest level of secrecy possible for the safety of the future monarchs - and due to the fact that neither of them are aware of each other’s true position. While Gwendolyn is blissfully unaware of her royal responsibilities, Mathias’ heart is heavy with the knowledge that at any moment his family could make the decision to whisk him away - and marry him off to some foreign queen. A story full of Renaissance-era parties, illicit affairs, and a beautifully written slow-burn romance: this isn’t one to miss.

Walker of the Dark: Short but definitely intense and amazing. Rage and Aspen were amazing together and I am glad to see a woman who is strong, determined on what she wants and well connected as a bonus. Also enjoyed seeing how even the Mafias is not all "stable" and how a bad bean can spread like wildfire if not contro...

Shriya: When I started, i thought the Alpha was a psycho, a control freak and could not understand why Kiera didn't get terrified of him. I wish the book was a bit longer to show her life in the pack but then I thought many of us are surrounded by strangers and we can be non inclusive without realising the ...

Silver's Second Chance

Ku_Rolet: I love the story and the love between the couple. It doesn’t drag unnecessarily, which I really enjoyed. However, I felt that the ending was a bit rushed because Silver being a druid was revealed so suddenly, without much explanation. That part of the story still feels like a mystery, especially how...
