"This is basically how it went: Mae opens Inkitt looks for nice morning read. Mae finds Empty Swimming Pools. Mae likes the cover. Mae likes the title. Mae wants to read ONE chapter. Easy while enjoying her morning coffee. Mae swallows hard and thinks. "Um wow... this is really good. Okay, ONE more." Mae reads ONE more chapter. Mae starts to sweat. She has to get up and going and... she can't. Mae JUST met Lennon and Mae INSTANTLY fell in love with the boy. Then Mae meets William. Mae falls in love with William too. Then Lennon falls in love with William and William falls in love with Lennon. Wait... there is Nina.... Mae takes a quick shower and swears that she has to pause reading and wished it would be available as audiobook. Mae doesn't waste time blowing drying her hair, she needs her hands to hold the phone. Mae needs to read. Mae meets Nina. And likes her. Still, we need to get rid of her. Mae wants to see Lennon and William together. Mae makes evil plan to write herself into the story. Oh no! Mae meets Lennon's circle of friends and desperately wishes to become part of it. Mae is going to write herself into the story for sure. They have become her safe space. Oh, Mae has to go to work. *cough* is she feeling sick? Yes, it is better to stay at home and keep reading. Mae lives right along Lennon and William and .... what? No! This is not happening!!!! Wait. Scrolls back, scrolls forward again. It is! Mae dislikes Nina.... Mae keeps reading. Mae is EATING the book. Mae struggles with Lennon. Feels with William. Cries, whines, throws phone in the corner and paces the ground... Mae is addicted. Mae needs more. Mae is a little upset at the author for letting them BLEED. But maybe that is why Mae LOVES the author because this entire story is so relatable? So pure? So beautiful? So painful? So devastating? Mae cannot stop reading..... Mae suffers, loves and bleeds. Mae might not like Nina much but well.. there is always that one person we don't like. Mae is captivated by this book. Reads, reads, suffers, bleeds a little more... Wait WHAT HAPPENED?????? YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME???? Okay... Mae hates Nina. Mae wants to adopt Lennon. Mae is hopelessly devoted to EMPTY SWIMMING POOLS Mae finishes the book in ONE session! Must I say more? READ THIS BOOK! This is my all time favorite read of all reads in the world! Read it, fall in love, shatter completely and let this beautiful soul of an author slowly put you back together! This is the best you can get. Honest. Raw. Relatable. Painful. Beautiful. PERFECT! <3 "

"I’ve read several of your novels now and I think you are a wonderful writer. You get a complete essence of the center core of each of your characters, in which you can also fall in love with the good and the demons in them, well except for NIna, man she turned out to just be the devil.To be able to write and express such a tremendous love that two people can find in each other is quite frankly Amazing. I still have a couple of books left to read but each one is unique that there isn’t one better than the other, just like your characters. I’m reading now about the Prince and the race car driver and I look forward to each new chapter, but I think Lennon and Williams love story is epic (and my favorite)❤️ ❤️🔥❤️"

"I just can't bring myself to root for the cheater honestly I read till chapter 22 And william was so insufferable A spineless man Didn't have the guts to breakup with his gf Cheated on her Didn't have the guts to connect with his lover After getting caught, didn't break up with her He's an adult and couldn't break up with his gf srsly I can't stand him honestly Upto chapter 22 I get the side of nina She's a bitch but she didn't lie about anything till chapter 22 I mean lenn is a whore,has slept with like half the city and also with matty But I hate her for using that against william But understandable she was in denial and in love so If i caught my bf of 2 years cheating honestly I would go mad I would have loved it if you had shown her as that because she was a victim We could have had a great character arc for her She was so sweet in the beginning The 180° felt deliberate to make her the bad guy when she was the gf Would have loved it if she had a spine and had walked away from a cheating asshole I am dropping this but i appreciate your way of storytelling very much It's very well written but the cheating plot is distasteful for me The intimate scenes are so well written too "
