What is your opinion?

Izzy and Jazz

"I like the premise of this story. I'm an urban dweller and I'm thrilled by nature and survival stories. Plus, I mostly read speculative fiction so this was a pristine-fresh change. More importantly, I love how the narrative flows smoothly from one sentence to the next. Although it's true that some points came abruptly to me (the main protagonist's disability, for instance) and some points may have been glossed over (the terminally-ill mother's numbered days and her emotional and mental state), over all this novel has great potential. I also like the idea of having animal characters that act like familiars -- and wolves are definitely one of my favorite totem animals. Finally, I know they're completely different genres but this story keeps reminding me of the Japanese animation Princess Mononoke, especially that poster with a huge white wolf behind the heroine. I'm looking forward to reading more from this writer and seeing the evolution of his work. I hope to see more poetic imagery, too, of the rich and colorful setting."
