Prologue
Hope’s vision blurred with tears before clearing again when the tears dripped down her cheeks.
“You were leaving? Without even a goodbye?” She asked in a trembling voice.
He didn’t say anything, just stared at her. His face was devoid of any expression.
“Unbelievable,” Hope huffed out with an incredulous laugh.
“Hope, I…” He trailed off, he had nothing to say to her.
“I hope you achieve all that you’ve dreamed of, and I wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavours,” Then she picked up her backpack and walked away from him, away from everything she had believed about him. She halted mid-way and looked back over her shoulders.
“You know Mark, I have always wanted to tell you this; I love you. Goodbye.”
He watched her the entire time she walked away, his eyes like a brand on her back.
