I was heading back home after some shopping at the grocery shop. As cold breezes were chilling me, I looked up and noticed that the clouds are turning dark. I increased my movement speed but at a point I stoped. I saw a pitiful sugar glider. I wanted to help it until I heard a loud thunderclap. I have to go but I couldn’t just resist the temptation to help it, so I went for it. But every time I got closer it kept on gliding away as the wind was quite strong. We ended up under a shelter. Then it rain.. Heavily.
“Come here little guy, I’m naming you Sugar,” I grabbed it then looked the rain worriedly. Sugar again got off my hands and glided through the long grasses behind the shelter. “Hey come back!” I went through the longer grasses as well and to my surprise I found myself in a beautiful open forest and I felt unsafe.
“We should probably head back” we went through the long grasses again but was still in the same forest.
“What?! We’re stuck!” I was so confused and frightened. It wasn’t long before I decided to move around. Also the wind there was even stronger so it allowed sugar to glide better. Eventually, We found a river. It was so clean and beautiful. Suddenly we heard something walking on the water. “Sugar come hide” we hid behind a bush. Then a giant elk came to drink water. I couldn’t believe my eyes.
“Omg! That is big! Where are we?! I regret setting foot in here. All because of you,” I was lamenting. Then, we slowly walked away. After a certain distance, when we were feeling relief, a terrifying noice caught my attention. My heartbeat quickly increased. We hid behind another nearby bush and we saw a Tasmanian tiger eating a dodo. I freaked out. It was one of the scariest moments I’ve ever experienced. We tried to slowly walk out but the Tasmanian tiger heard the leaves crumbling and saw us.
“Run!” We ran for our lives as it is chasing. Sugar managed to got on a tree but unfortunately, I tripped and fainted. The last I saw was something coming to my rescue. When I opened my eyes, I was on a tree with a giant sloth. Maybe that tiger was scarred away due to their size differences. “Ahhh, I flinched, yelled and fell. I was so scared so I didn’t really bothered the pain I was feeling. “Come sugar!” We both ran again then stop somewhere as we were very tired.
Suddenly, we saw something glowing. “What is that?!” Those things flew across us then left. And surprisingly enough, i was healed. “Wait, I no more feel pain. Where on earth have you brought me?! I Hate you!” Sugar looked at me confusingly.
“Oh come on. Set me free would ya, it’s all your fault,” I yelled at sugar meaninglessly as I was so frustrated. Sugar starting gliding again, “hey don’t leave me alone!” I followed it and was so surprised because there was a titanoboa and sugar sat right on top of one of its egg. I was literally blown away with what it did.
But somethings made sense. All this time sugar has been leading me the way, so I felt like there is something behinds it’s doing. I raised my guts and went for that one perilous task. Hopefully I succeed. “now what?” I whispered as I asked sugar but sugar looked frightened. “What?!” Little did I know that the the titanaboa saw us. And it swallowed us.
Ahh! “Is everything all right young right?” And old lady asked me. I confusingly looked around. I was the grocery shop and the streets were damp. The rain have just stopped. I’m supposed to be at the shelter?! It’s just a dream,” I ask my self. “Young man?” She made me came back to my sense. “No” I said it worriedly. “Oh, I can offer you a help, if you insist,” she asked. “yes please.” Then, We we talking the whole time while heading back home but that one thing she said freaked me out.
“By the way, I like your pet” “Pet?!” The sugar glider was hanging on my back?!” My eyes widen and I immediately wanted a conclusion as curiosity and confusion drive me crazy. “T-there’s my house. I-I’ll get there by myself. Thanks,” I waved goodbye and left. “Hide” I told it to sugar and I knocked the door.’Click’ “Oliver! There you are. I was worried. Were you waiting in the grocery shop for the rain to stop?” “Y-yeah” “okay, now go get ready, I’ll prepare the dinner.
At night after lunch
I was starring at sugar in my bedroom. “Who are you?” Sugar acted cute. “Don’t pretend, I know everything, are you any spirit from the other world?” Sugar turned its head towards the window. I understand. I silently rushed out without my mom’s knowledge then sugar leaded the way. Soon we got to the shelter. “What? This shelter really does exists??” I was so shocked.
Sugar made a cute smile then disappeared into the long grasses. A stared at those grasses for a while and decided to enter the bushes once again. Don’t blame me, it’s my curiosity. As I got in, I saw nothing but a filed and my neither hood. “What? Did sugar disappeared into thin air?? Nah, I’m pretty sure it’s a secret portal!”
