I looked down at the dog tag an held it close to my heart as he walked towards his car an made his way to work but little did I know that would be my last time seeing my husband of 16 years…

Nakima:
I couldn’t sleep a wink last night just thoughts of Jonathan kept clouding an resurfacing in my head. I missed him so much his touch, the laughs,tears,kisses and passionate love that we shared it made me feel safe an secure. Yet I’m here in this house that I’ve been in since the day he left an I waited for him he was gone that’s what his mother informed me off when I had just gotten inside the house from my afternoon catering job at Wilson’s Elementary School. Still remember it like it was yesterday….
March 21st 1998,
I was lying in bed asleep when Jonathan had waken up he had kissed my cheek as he smiled then made his way downstairs shortly after doing his hygiene. He had grabbed the pancake mix and bowl from in the pantry as he turned on one of my favorite songs by Erykah Badu “Back In The Day” as he started to cook breakfast.
Turning in my sleep as I held the covers gently while having the sun shine bright upon my chocolate skin felt as if I was dipped in chocolate an kissed by the sun. As I soon woke up shortly after then grabbed my phone to see what time it was…. 8:55 am. Man I had the most pleasant dream last night that made it feel as if it wasn’t a dream at all.
Jonathan had eaten then as he made his way to the fridge he grabbed some whip cream an made a little swirl on my pancakes as he placed everything on the tray with my orange juice he was excited because today he knew this would be a good day. Making his way upstairs as he smiled saying “Wake up my beautiful Queen come on babygirl I made breakfast for you.”
I had smiled while wiping my tired eyes as he placed the tray in my lap shortly after I sat up an gave him the biggest kiss a wife could ever give him. He smiled saying “what would you like to do today?” I smiled then spoke saying “We can go back to bed as he chuckled then looked at me saying “Babygirl I know we can get to bed but when I finished with you I don’t think you’ll be able to get back out after what I give you.”
I smiled while nudging him saying that he played just too much. He had smiled while I sat the tray down on the dresser then looked at him as we both smiled at each other I had caressed his cheek before I placed a kiss upon his soft sweet lips.
