Tamara broke down in tears as her now paralyzed brother left the hospital in a wheelchair.
Her thoughts amplified as she stared at her brother's condition with disbelief. Tears raced down her slender cheeks, her whole body sagged in the chair across her brother. The veins in her head stood firm as she clenched her teeth as if holding something hostage between her jaws, her once cristeen uniform now stained with rusty blood from her brother's open wounds. She was completely unrecognisable.
It was only just a few hours ago they had their usual falling out but never had they imagined something could've gone so wrong.
Just a few hours ago
Tamara and her friends sat down encircling a wooden lunch table. Laughter echoed as each of them added a joke trying to cut off their oxygen supply. As they enjoyed their lunch together a shadow hovered over them casting an awkward silence. Without looking up Tamara knew exactly who ruined their fun . Rolling her eyes she gave her brother an annoyed glare signaling him to proceed.
"Did you give mother her medicine?"
her brother asked curiously
"I did," vaguely replied Tamara
"Ok good," replied her brother, giving her a gentle smile and a pat on the back.
"Anything else?" she asked glaring at him
"No.That's it," he calmly replied
Suddenly the bell rang followed by the voice of the principal over the PA system telling students to return to their classes.
"Just great," hissed Tamara under her breath
Her group dispersed heading towards their various classes.
In a few hours the last bell of the day rang, groups of students began to cover the area of the school heading towards the gate. Tamara douged behind students trying to get lost in the crowd avoiding him without success. In no time he spotted her slender body and began shuffling towards her direction.
“I don't need you taking care of me !” Tamara screamed across the stretch of paveway
“I didn't ask,” replied Xavian
“YOU HOVER and I don’t need it, I can take care of myself,” shouted Tamara glaring at her tower tall brother.
Xavian turned and ran to the gate obeying the wishes of his sister.
There was a loud crash and a shout echoed above the heads of the crowd. Tamara knew the voice, without thinking she ran straight to the sound and froze in her steps.
