excellent
Hi Kingfish,
I just finished reading your story "Murder at the Royal Wedding" and I loved it so much. Your writing is amazing, and I kept thinking how cool it would look as a comic.
I really loved the assassination-at-the-wedding sequence in the final chapter. The contrast between the glittering ceremony and the sudden, surgical violence, the slow close-ups on regalia, a trembling hand reaching for a weapon, camera flashes turning celebration into chaos, reads like a film storyboard. Visually it’s perfect for comics: you can play with silent panels, extreme close-ups (a crown, a blood-specked ribbon), wide cinematic splash pages of the packed chapel, and quick, jagged panels to sell the panic and the ticking-clock intensity.
I also thought the rooftop chase/face-off later in the chapter would make a killer centerpiece. The disgraced royal cop and the wild girl paparazzo against the demented ex-con, rooftop silhouettes, dramatic angles, rain-slick tiles, and that moment of personal reveal where the villain’s Diana obsession peeks through, gives great opportunities for dynamic action sequences, varied panel rhythms, and expressive close-ups that reveal character. You could even mix in “photo” panels (to echo the paparazzo’s POV) for stylistic contrast.
I’m a commissioned artist, and I’d love to draw your story into a comic/manga. No pressure though, I just think your work would look awesome in comic form.
