Prologue
Daniel woke up one morning, and it was the first day of summer vacation.
He knew it was time to FINALLY sit back and relax, and not worry about tons of assignments in school. He sat down on his bean bag chair, turned on the TV, and as he just got comftorable..
“DANIEL!” His mom, Cindy, called him from downstairs.
“Coming!” as Daniel turned off the TV.
When he arrived downstairs, his mom told him to sit down and decided to talk to him.
“Well,” His mom said, “I know it’s been hard since your dad Michael left. So, I have a surprise for you!”
Daniel instantly perked up. He loved surprises!
“You’re going to summer camp for 4 weeks!”
Daniel sighed. He didn’t wanna waste almost a month of his vacation at some stupid summer camp!
“It’s called Camp Jewel. You’ll be doing fun activites like game nights, kayaking, and you’ll be able to make some friends! Maybe you’ll meet some of your old pals from your middle school!”
“Yeah. Sure Mom.” Daniel said sarcastically.
His mom said, “Don’t act like that. I paid lots of money so you could go there. Anyways, pack your bags! You’re leaving in an hour!”
“So, I don’t have any say in this, huh?” Daniel thought.
He went to pack his bags in defeat, saddened by the fact he’ll be disconnected from video games and YouTube for 4 weeks.
An hour later, they left. His mom pulled up to the camp, but Daniel had fell asleep. When his mom woke him up, he couldn’t believe his eyes.
The camp.. was huge.
