Prologue

Iris looked at herself in the airport mirror, ‘Why did I do this what if something bad happens?’ She thought to herself. Iris and her best friend decided to “run off” to a small town in Europe called Willamorn. Iris has wanted to move to Europe all her life, she dreamed of what it would look like to live in a small town away from the craziness of America. Her dream of having a cottage and living out her European dreams were finally coming true.

“Ris! Are you coming you need to get your luggage!” yelled Malak.

“Shoot.” Iris whispered to herself, snapping out of her thoughts, “Yeah, I'm coming, be out in a second!” Iris yelled back.

Malak and Iris have been best friends since their sophomore year in high school. They went to college together and both agreed they wanted to try living in Europe together. It worked out perfectly since Iris and her parents had recently gotten into a nasty fight. If anything, that just helped the move even more.
“Are you trying to make us be late to the bus?” Snapped Malak.

Someone's grumpy. Iris looked at the time on her phone, only 6:15pm, the bus wouldn’t be here for another 15 minutes and the drive is about an hour and a half long.

“Sorry I just dozed off and I’m tired what did you expect.” Iris snapped back, “look,” she sighed. “We’re both just exhausted with the time change, let's just get on the bus and get to our living arrangements.”

“Fine.” Malak said, “You’re right we’re tired, didn’t really prepare for the time change.” She said rolling her eyes and walking away.

’What’s her deal?’ thought Iris.

Shrugging the feeling off, Iris joined her friend and grabbed her luggage. Apparently, the rest would be shipped to where they would be living. Both girls walked out of the Airport and ran to the bus stop, only a second later the bus pulled up to the stop.

“well look at, that we’re not late.” Iris said sarcastically, grinning at Malak.

Malak only responded with a glare. Iris half expected this, Malak is not the type to be kind when she’s tired especially when she skips a night of sleep.

“Alright I’ll shut up.” Said Iris, earning a small smile from Malak.

“I'm just tired, I'll be less grumpy tomorrow.” Malak said in reply.

“hopefully.” Said Iris nudging her friend.

“Are you two getting on?” said a low voice in an English accent. Iris turned and saw an old man standing right beside her on her right.

“Um yes sir we are.” said Iris

“Well, you need to put your luggage in the back there isn't enough room for you and your friend to bring your suitcases on the bus with you.” Said the Old man with a look of annoyance.

“Oh, ok sorry sir, Malak give me your suitcase I'll put them in the back, just get on the bus.” Iris said.

Malak nodded and handed her suitcase over to Iris and walked onto the bus and took a seat near the front. Iris on the other hand began walking to the back of the bus. There was a small but wide door that said, “luggage or big items stored here.” Iris opened the door and put Malaks and her suitcase in the back.
Iris got on the bus and saw where Malak sat, next to a window her head leaned against it trying to fight off the feeling of sleep. Iris smiled to herself, she knew Malak was tired and had no desire to wake her up. She walked to the seat next to Malak and sat down laying her head back against the window next to her, Iris eyes starting to feel heavy as well. The line of seats on the bus were mainly empty and only 4 people including Malak and iris were on the bus together.

“I’m going to stay awake and make sure we catch our stop.” Iris whispered to Malak.

Malak merely grumbled in response. She smiled at her friend and watched the bus roll from the stop staring into the fields and beautiful hills watching the breeze bend the wild grass and vibrant wildflowers.
Dozing off, enjoying the sights and the gorgeous sunset, Iris began to imagine what her life would be like in this new town. A change was coming, and she was thrilled to find out what her new beginning would bring.
