I woke up to a ray of sunlight disturbing my sleep. I hate morning light—it hurts my eyes. I groaned and turned away, wrapping myself deeper into the peaceful, satin-soft blanket around my fragile body.
Another groan slipped past my lips when I felt a slight ache between my thighs.
Periods?
But no... I had just finished last week.
Whatever.
I pulled the pillow under my head and hugged it close, tucking it between my arms. A bad habit, maybe—but this is the only position I can truly sleep in.
Last night, I went out for a few drinks with my friend. After all, I had just gone through a massive breakup with my boyfriend of six years.
Sleep was supposed to numb the pain. Instead, my body seemed determined to remind me that nothing was okay.
I shifted again, wrapping the blanket tightly around my body. It was cold—winter sessions really sucked.
I’ll sleep a little more.My head was throbbing anyway.
“Don’t move.”
A voice whispered behind me.
Before I could react, an arm slipped under me, pulling me closer—pressing my back against something cold... hard. A chest.
A hard chest.
My eyes flew open.
What the hell—?
Where the freaking hell am I?
As soon as I opened my eyes, sunlight peeked through the half-open curtains.
I shut them immediately, the brightness stinging.
I tried to pull away, panic creeping in—but another arm tightened around my waist, holding me firmly in place. I froze as I felt a faint brush of breath against my bare shoulder.
Bare shoulder?
My heart skipped.
Why is my shoulder bare?
A nose suddenly nuzzled the side of my neck, and I couldn’t help but bite down on my lower lip—more out of reflex than desire.
The person behind me was unmistakably solid. Muscled. Warm now, no longer just cold and hard.
Too real.
My breath hitched as awareness crept in, slow and terrifying.
Whoever this was... they weren’t fragile. And they definitely weren’t supposed to be here.
“Who are you?” I asked, forcing myself to stay still. Fear knotted in my chest—afraid that if I moved even an inch, they might get angry... or worse, hurt me.
“Don’t talk,” a voice muttered behind me. Low. Raspy. Undeniably male.“My head throbs.”
My heartbeat thundered in my ears.
This wasn’t a dream. And whoever he was... he sounded as confused as I felt.
I tried to pull away, unsure of everything—of him, of myself—but instead of tightening his hold, he leaned closer. His touch was gentle, almost hesitant, as his lips brushed my skin. A quiet sound slipped from me before I could stop it, surprising us both.
“Last night was amazing,” he murmured, voice thick with sleep.
“Shut up and let me go,” I snapped, forcing steel into my tone.
Maybe itwasamazing.But I couldn’t accept that thought.
He was a stranger, after all.And whatever happened last night didn’t give him the right to hold me now.
And no matter how safe his arms felt, I couldn’t pretend that this moment meant more than it did—at least not yet.
“Let go!”
I shoved him with all the strength I had—and moved so fast that, in the very next second, my ass met the floor. I had fallen straight off the bed... right in front of a total stranger.
How embarrassing.
“Nice try,” the man said, his voice thick with sleep.
Damn his voice.
The next moment, I heard him chuckle. He propped himself up on one elbow and looked down at me, clearly amused. I clutched the blanket tightly to my chest, suddenly very aware of myself.
I must’ve looked like a tomato by now.
His face was... perfect. Perfect eyes. Perfect, kissable lips. A cute nose.Just—perfect.
I facepalmed at my own thoughts.
“Done checking me out?” he asked, a teasing glint dancing in his eyes.
My heart skipped.Great. Caught.
“I... I wasn’t,” I stammered, lying, and tried to get up—but my legs wobbled uncontrollably.
Why couldn’t I feel them?
“Because we did it... Fourteen times,” he said casually, getting up.
My eyes widened as I realized how close he was, the morning light highlighting every inch of him. He is completely naked, and I can see how proudly his dick is hanging with his tip looking up.
I shut my eyes tightly, cheeks burning with shame.
This was insane.A stranger. A perfect stranger. And yet, I couldn’t deny the way my heart was racing.
He held out his hand toward me, calm and steady. “Here... grab my hand,” he said softly, his gaze meeting mine.
My heart skipped a beat as I hesitated for a moment, my fingers trembling slightly. Then, slowly, I reached out, letting my hand slip into his.
His grip was firm, reassuring, yet gentle enough to make my pulse race. As he helped me to my feet, I could feel the warmth of him lingering through our touch. For a brief second, the embarrassment, the fear, everything... melted into something electric, unspoken, and dangerously close to... something else.
“Thank you,” I murmured, still clutching the blanket tightly with one hand.
“There’snothingI haven’t seen,” he replied casually, turning away.
I couldn’t help but notice... he had a cute ass.
I quickly averted my eyes, feeling my cheeks flare hotter.
Why did he have to beso perfectand still make me feel like a complete fool?
I looked around the room for my clothes and spotted them lying neatly by the entrance.
Oh god.
Wait... did he just sayfourteen times?
“Yes, I did,” he replied casually, as if it were the most normal thing in the world.
“How... how could you hear my thoughts?” I stammered, my cheeks burning hotter by the second.
“Thoughts,” he said, tilting his head with a teasing smile, “if you keep them in your mind, not when you say them out loud.”
Then he winked at me.
Oh god.
My brain short-circuited. My heart was racing. And my face... definitely looked like a tomato.
I chose not to ask if he had heardeverythingI was thinking and grabbed my cute red dress that fell just to my knees... along with my undergarments.
Carefully, I slipped them on, ignoring the fact that I hadn’t showered yet. Meanwhile, he simply walked into the bathroom with his clothes, moving as if nothing unusual had happened.
My phone.
Where was it?
I rummaged through my bag and finally found it tucked under the coffee table.
How wild... how incredibly wild were we last night?
My cheeks burned all over again at the thought, and yet a tiny, reluctant smile tugged at my lips.
I grabbed my bag and pulled out my phone, checking the time. 10 a.m.
My legs ached, and my body felt sore in places I didn’t want to think about. I sank onto the edge of the bed and dialled my one and only best friend.
She picked up on the second ring.
“Where are you?” she asked.
Shouldn’t it be me asking that? After all, it had been her idea to hit the bar, and she was the one who left me alone.
This... this was the first time I had drunk—and somehow ended up in bed with a complete stranger.
I let out a shaky breath, half-laughing, half-crying. My life had officially turned into a disaster... and yet, somehow, it felt unforgettable.
“I... I’m somewhere... I don’t—”
My words died on my lips as my mouth dropped open, completely forgotten, when he walked out of the bathroom.
He was wearing a full suit—tailored, sharp, with a waistcoat and tie—and I couldn’t look away. Shamefully, I stared, but he didn’t even notice, busy adjusting his cufflinks with deliberate ease.
“Are you ready?” he asked, his voice calm, controlled... and maddeningly attractive.
My friend’s voice buzzed in my ear. “Is there a man with you? Where are you?”
Shit. I’d forgotten she was still on the line.
I cut the call, my cheeks flaming, and licked my dry lips, brushing a stray strand of hair behind my ear.
God, this was getting dangerously... hot.
“Yes,” I muttered, and we walked out of the room together.
I couldn’t help one last glance back.
The mess we’d created stared back at me—wrinkled bedsheets, pillows scattered across the floor, ripped condom packets littered everywhere... and everything else left unspoken between us.
A shiver ran down my spine, part embarrassment, part disbelief, part something I couldn’t quite name.
God... what had I done?
Should I ask his name?
After all... he was the very first man I had ever slept with.
This was exactly why I had broken up with my boyfriend. I couldn’t bring myself to let him... not yet. I had wanted marriage first, a promise, a future.
But destiny... destiny clearly had other plans.
I let out a shaky breath, trying to steady my racing thoughts. Somewhere between embarrassment, confusion, and a strange, fluttering curiosity, I realized one thing: whatever had happened last night wasn’t something I could easily forget.
“Honour is mine.”
I shot him a quick glance, my cheeks still tinged with pink... and yes, I’d spoken loudly this time too, as if trying to reclaim some of my dignity.
He looked at me, a slow, amused smile tugging at his lips, and for a moment, the world felt like it had narrowed down to just the two of us.
The elevator arrived, and we stepped in.
I stayed quiet, my pulse racing. I didn’t dare think too much—after being loud earlier, I didn’t want to risk saying anything else embarrassing.
The elevator dinged, announcing the ground floor. My legs itched to move, to run... but before I could even think, I heard him speak.
“Parth.”
My breath hitched.
That one word... his name... felt like it hit me straight in the chest.
I froze, caught between wanting to bolt and wanting to melt right there.
I didn’t wait another second.
I bolted out of the hotel and practically jumped into the first cab I could find, my heart still racing.
Home. Shower. Escape. Forget about the stranger—Parth.
Every thought of him made my cheeks burn, my pulse skip. I told myself firmly: this was a one-time mistake, a night I would push into the back of my mind... no matter how perfectly infuriating he was.
