Summary

A College trip to the pre-historic caves proves to lead to the Adventure of her lifetime. Day 0: Wandering Caves

The trip so far had been nothing short of boring. Visiting the sites where ancient history had been made sounded like fun at the get-go, but as the days passed slowly and historical sites turned out to be nothing more than a collection of old artifacts. The disappointment tasted heavy on my tongue and I was looking forward to getting done with the last place and going home, for a nap that would hopefully restore my faith in museums. The bus pulled up to a series of caves and we all got off.

The teachers glared at us, reminding us sternly that groups of four were mandatory at all times. I looked around and found my friends, quickly joining them in their laughter and enthusiasm at the freedom that we were given at this site. We all grabbed a couple maps and a few of us brought bottles of water before stepping into the Elephanta caves.

As we moved from cave to cave, we clicked pictures, looked at the carvings, and eavesdropped on a couple English tours. It was amongst all the crazy fun that we were having that a particular cave caught my eye. I told the others I was going to grab a quick look and stepped into the cave.

And that’s where my crazy adventure began
