The Wolf, The Sheep, And The Lion
Lights flashing in many different colors, Music taking hold of my ears, Fake fog covering every inch of the room, People dancing, drinking, and laughing. This was the setting in the notorious Night Club formally known as The Black Hole. Such a simple place, people come in, get drunk, hook up, pass out, fight, etc. but is that really all that goes on here? Only a select few really knew the secrets behind this now blooming business.
"You can do this Kinsley. He broke up with you for another bitch. Just go in and find yourself a new man. You can't stay sad forever." I tried giving myself a pep talk before opening the door of my car. I then slowly slide out and stand up, gently readjusting my black silk dress back down. With a nod of confidence and a fee light taps to my cheeks, I started walking to the club that I had heard so much about from my best friend Elijah. After a few minutes I reached the black steel door, then proceeded to open the door and inch my way inside.
"ID please" requested the tall man on the other side of the door.
"Yes Sir" I quickly rummaged through my wallet, locating my ID and handing it to the man. He examined it for a moment before writing my name and date of birth down on a clipboard that laid flat on a small round black table to his left. I watched him in confusion as he took longer than necessary to return my ID.
"You may proceed Miss. Kinsley Rose" the man said firmly, motioning me to walk through the LED string lights that draped down acting as a curtain.
I nodded awkwardly before stepping through the curtains. Once inside I was shocked to see that the club looked exactly like every other club in movies. There was people drinking at the bar, people grinding on each other, loud music, and obnoxiously bright lights that flashed every few seconds. It had been my first time in a night club, and for good reason, but this place had such a good review from Elijah that I thought I'd check it out.
"Kinsley!"
I jumped a bit when I heard someone scream my name only to turn slightly and see Elijah walking toward me.
"I see you made it" He smiled as he looked at me
"Yeah yeah, I'm here, now what?" I said acting annoyed as he knew I hated placed like this. These kinds of places were good for only 2 things, getting drunk and hooking up. Neither of which interested me much.
"I think you'll like it here. Do you want a drink? We have to get that dumb fuck out from inside your pretty little head" He chuckled a bit before winking and motioning me to the bar where a stunning blonde haired goddess looked at me, her eyes as green as the most beautiful emerald found on Planet Earth.
"Hello there Miss, what can I interest you in tonight" she said as her eyes danced along my body and her tongue played with her lips slowly, tracing them ever so lightly.
A blush rushed over me as she played with one of her best assets. "I'll uh.. I'll have a --"
Before I was able to finish my order I was interrupted by Elijah who quite loudly ordered for me.
"She will have a shot of Jack and a chaser of Coke. She is going through a breakup and needs the strong stuff tonight to loosen her up" He smirked at me and nudged me gently, only to receive an eye roll from me.
"You can stop bringing it up now. Not everyone needs to know that my love life is shit." I said frustrated.
"Your love life isn't shit Kay, your ex was shit. That's that" he said as he took a seat at one of the many open barstools and ushered me to sit with him.
"True but I still don't want everyone knowing" I said before taking a seat on the stool beside him. Just as quickly as we had sat down, the beautiful bartender brought me the drink Elijah had ordered for me and gave me a wink as she sat it down in front of me. He then smiled at me as I sighed and picked up the drink, placing the rim to my bottom lip, lifting it so all of the contents inside slid into my mouth and down my throat in one swift movement. I then sat the glass back down, making a slightly disgusted frown. After a few seconds I pick up the coke and took a big swing of it to get the taste out of my mouth.
"Good girl, you'll feel relaxed soon enough" he said as he motioned the bartender over once more, ordering 4 more of the same. 2 for me and 2 for him. I knew at that moment that it was gonna be a long night.
One more, then another, and that continued for hours. At some point I found myself on the dance floor dancing with Elijah. The two of us were dancing as if we were in the 80's, jumping around and having fun. I could definitely tell that I was pretty drunk since I hated dancing, especially in public where others could see me. Mainly because I couldn't dance to save my life, yet here I was doing just that. We were having the time of our lives, just enjoying dancing, drinking, and laughing.
"I think I need another drink Jay" I said with slurred speech as I fell back slightly stumbling over myself, unable to contain the fact that I was fairly drunk. Upon doing so I felt my body knock into something. In my drunken state, I quickly jumped forward putting distance between me and the person before turning around.
"I'm so sorry" I said as I dropped my head in shame, terrified of how this unknown person could react to being touched, more so, knocked into.
"Kinsley" A familiar voice came from the throat of the person I just backed up into. A voice that made me tremble in fear. A voice that made my mind and body so afraid that I froze and couldn't bring myself to move.
"Hey asshole! I think you need to go!" Elijah came forward making himself known before grabbing my arm and pulling me behind him.
"I think you need to mind your own business you little fucking fairy" He said in anger as he stepped closer toward us.
"You can call me every name in the book you giant waste of human life but you will not touch her again. I think you've done enough of that you sick bastard" I could tell Elijah was angry, his face was starting to get a red tint to it and he was balling up his fist. I didn't like fighting so I simply grabbed Jay's fist and squeezed it to hopefully calm him down. As I did, I felt his anger simply wash away and his fists slowly unclenched. I knew I needed to do something. I worked up the confidence and pretended to block my fear before stepping out from behind Jay to meet the gaze of Christian.
"What do you want from me" I asked cautiously.
"We need to talk" He said as he motioned for me to follow him.
"Hell no! Not happening!" Jay quickly blurted out.
"Its alright Jay. I have to hear what he has to say for himself. It'll ease my mind" I said softly as I placed my hand to Jay's chest in an attempt to calm him down.
"Kay I don't think this is a good idea." Jay grabbed my hand and looked me in the eyes, nervousness written all over his face.
"It will be okay I promise." I gave him a sweet smile as I gently pulled my hand from his and started walking to Christian. As soon as Jay let go of my hand he stormed off into the crowd, obviously worried and angry.
Once I reached Christian he grabbed my wrist and squeezed it tight, the same wrists that were still bruised from my last time "lying" to Christian. He began pulling me toward the exit door. I dropped my head, my fear washing back over me.
"I didn't say we were done talking the other night. You should not have left. You made me even more angry and now you will pay for that." The words came out in a deep growl which was terrifying for me, for when his voice got like that, he would usually get physical. I stayed quiet to avoid anything worse than I knew I was about to receive.
Right before we reached the door I felt someone grab my trembling arm and pull me back. Now I was really afraid that he would think I was fighting back. With every intention of avoiding any more violence I quickly turned to ask the person to let me go, fully thinking it was Jay.
"Jay I said-- " I said somewhat loud before realizing that it was a man that I did not know. I quickly stopped talking as this mans presence made me feel weird and oddly safe. I looked into the direction of his eyes only to find him staring directly into Christian's eyes, all while he continued to squeeze my wrist tight, still trying to inch me toward the exit.
"I think you should let this young lady go now, don't you?" The man said softly not blinking at all. There was not a single sign of fear in his expression, which I guess was terrifying in itself.
"This is my girlfriend, I can do what I want" Christian stated with a sense of cockiness in his voice and stepped forward pulling me closer to him. The man then looked down at me, his eyes suddenly softened as our eyes met.
"Do you belong to him Miss?" He asked quietly, never breaking our eye contact.
I don't know why I felt the way I did nor do I understand what made me say what I did, but his eyes captivated me and I felt as if I could tell him anything.
"He's my ex and he demanded to talk to me" I said lightly, slight fear still audible in my voice.
"Your ex? Is he the one responsible for these bruises that mark your wrists?" He then turned my wrist so my palm was toward the ceiling and looked down at the wrist he was holding onto.
I frantically pull my wrists away from both of them and hide them behind me. Christian then stepped forward to grab my wrist once again but before his hand could reach my wrist, the unknown man grabbed his hand and placed himself firmly between the two of us.
"I would rethink your actions before your body gets marked as you've done to hers and I will have no issues destroying that pride you carry around as well. Learn your place boy, because you are currently in my club therefore my space and I won't allow scum such as yourself to prey on young woman in my space. Am I understood" The man confidently stated to Christian as he took a step forward getting within inches of Christians face.
In response Christian scoffed and took a step back before glaring at me.
"This isn't done yet. You just keep hiding behind your little guard dogs. We will talk whether you like it or not." After finishing, he turned to the door and stomped out.
I let out a small sigh of relief, my body still trembling and my head once again was hanging low and I tightly gripped my wrists, trying to hide the marks. I felt frozen, as if I couldn't move.
Suddenly I felt a hand gently caress my chin, bringing my head up to face him. His eyes pierced into mine, those deep blue eyes that reminded me so much of the wife open sea.
"Are you okay Miss?" He asked quietly, as to not scare me further.
I nodded my head unable to speak as fear was still driving me. He looked at me with a concerned expression as he dropped his hand from its position on my chin.
"Very well. What is your name Miss?"
"My n-name is Kinsley Rose" I stuttered to get it out due to the fear and the sheer amount of alcohol I had consumed.
"Its a pleasure to meet you Kinsley Rose. My name is Liam Wolf. Should I call you a cab home?" His voice was so deep yet spoke so softly.
"No it's okay, my friend is here, he will take me home, and it was nice meeting you too Sir. Oh! Thank you for helping me. How can I make it up to you?" My face was now slightly blushed over and I just stared at this man that I now know as Liam Wolf.
"Well I must go. I have work to attend to. You can make it up to me by having a drink with me the next time we are both within these walls. Also, you are so very welcome my dear." He gave me a small smile as he gently let words just roll off of his tongue.
"I will definitely come back soon. Have a good night!" A smile began to grow on my face as I stepped away from him, allowing him to pass beside me.
"I look forward to it Miss. Rose" the smile grew ever so slightly on his lips as he passed me. He then exited the building, I couldn't help but admire him as he was leaving.
"Kay!" Elijah came up behind me and put his hand on my upper back.
"How did it go?" He asked nervously.
"It didn't. I just wanna go home Jay."
"Alright, lets go then." He looked at me with concern written all over his face.
Once outside we headed toward the parking lot. Only to be stopped by a passing black Bugatti that just happened to be driven by Liam. As he passed us, he gazed into my eyes and lifted two fingers and his thumb, waving them in window before speeding off. Thankfully Jay didn't notice any of that, as he was looking for where he parked. After a few minutes we reached his car and got in, driving home.
That was a night I won't soon forget. I have mixed feelings about going back but there is a part of me that is screaming to go back in hopes of seeing Liam one more. I guess we will see how I feel about it all in the morning.
My mind continued to race until the moment when I finally fell into a deep half drunken sleep.
