History

Running. All Alex seem to do was run. In this situation, she was glad the army trained them so hard. Otherwise, she would be dead meat.

All the brunette could hear was gunshots as her feet ran through an old forest. The trees were white and the leaves a beautiful orange. Alex knew they are trying to shoot at her, but their aim says otherwise. God, they were a terrible shot, she could have just stood still, and they would still have missed her. She was not going to test out her theory, though.

All Alex knew was that her crew were waiting on the other side of this forest for her. She would just need to get there. It would have been more helpful if they came to get her, but she had to do all the hard work around here. Alex’s body felt tired. Her legs feel as if they were made of brick. The sunlight hurts her eyes too. Suppose that’s what happens when you’re held captive for how ever-long she was in that dark room. The days seemed to not exist in there.

The question still stands. How in the hell did she get here?

There’s a war—a big one. About one hundred years ago, around 2443, humans made their way into space. Their first base was on Mars. It was small, a small living area, enough for the ten scientists and a farm to grow their own food. They lived there for a few years, and things seemed to be going so well for them. They had learnt how to survive in space. But then, they were visited by the Staets. A species of alien that was passing through the Earths system. They looked somewhat humanoid, but with colourful scales covering their body instead of skin. Their faces were more reptile but still resembled a human.

The Staets saw how primitive we humans were and decided to teach us. Bad idea. They stayed with the scientists on Mars and taught as much as we were willing to learn. And since that happened, we have been able to roam the galaxies and join the Galactic Confederation.

But as we humans do. We wanted to rule it all. Soon humans populated most of the galaxies and planets that were habitable.

Over time, humans started being the dominant species. We started claiming other species as our slaves, started destroying certain worlds because of their resources. But also, we wiped out any other species that would threaten our power.

Earth was our centre of power, but we had conquered many other planets.

Echuna was a beautiful oasis of a planet; life seemed to bloom there. It was home to the Chalgak’s. A peaceful race of humanoid aliens. The males were around seven-foot-tall, the females a little smaller. Their skin a beautiful blue-green. Their skin had patterns, almost like glowing tattoos that they were born with. The markings went from their face down their backs and along their limbs.

Because of the Chalgak’s athletic builds, humans found them the perfect slave for manual labour. And because of their peaceful nature, the Chalgak’s seemed to want to help at first.

Soon the humans were setting up camps for the Chalgak’s to live in as we tore down their beautiful planet. These camps were not a nice place to live. Human soldiers roamed the streets and made sure the Chalgak’s were obeying their rules and the human ways. Nothing the humans did to the Chalgak’s were kind.

And this continued for around seventy years. Until the Galactic Confederation started to realise that we humans are parasites. A disease on the galaxies. The Humans formed a new Organisation—the United World Front (U.W.F.). The organisation was for the human race’s progress; they did not care for any other species.

War broke out. Humans virus everyone else. Though a few other species sided with us. The Staets joined us, along with their allies, the Mecells. A species that were covered in fur and looked similar to rats. The Chalgaks were forced into staying with the humans; some humans stuck with the Galactic Confederation and offered their aid. It was a mess.

And here is where Alex was born. Her mother was an accountant to some stuck up businessman, and her father was a mechanic for the army. He spent his life building weaponry to rid the galaxies of anything the U.W.F. didn’t like. Alex was brought up being told she would work for the U.W.F. She was going to be in this war in one way or another.

And Alex supposed they were right about that.

At the age of eighteen, Alex joined the army. You see, the humans were told that it was the Galactic Confederation that was attacking them. They were taught that the Aliens were the bad guys, and the humans were trying to help. They were told that they were protecting the Chalgaks from the Galactic Confederation.

With this in mind, all Alex wanted to do was help protect the galaxies from the evil Galactic Confederation. Being a soldier in the army would be the best way to do this. Or so she thought.

Many years of hard training for the army and Alex was in.

But on their first mission to go and save a group of Chalgaks from the Galactic Confederation, Alex realised the truth. The group of Chalgaks were women and children trying to escape one of the U.W.F’s camps. And as soldiers of U.W.F, we were charged with killing them all. Their exact orders were,

“No survivors,”

And that night, the soldiers returned to the camp to celebrate a successful mission Alex ran. She packed her bags and ran off into the wild. This was not what she had signed up for.

Spending two years trying to get as far away as she could from the evils of the U.W.F., Alex worked small jobs, being security for anyone who would pay her, even joining some underground fights to earn enough to survive. All she wanted to do was forget about the war and the fact she actively participates in their evil ways.

That’s when they found her.

Alex had made quite a name for herself as a fighter in the ring. So much that the Galactic Confederation wanted to recruit her into their ranks. They wanted Alex to join one of their top spaceship crews. These crews would go around saving captured aliens and freeing the camps. Alex refused at first the thought of having to go back into that war scared her. But after thinking, Alex agreed. They told her that she would be a symbol of teamwork. The fact that a human would be working with one of the top crews for the Confederation would show that the Confederation wasn’t against humans.

The crew she would be joining was lead by Alki, a half Chalgak half-human. He was the poster boy of this whole rebellion against U.W.F. Alki’s mother was one of the many Chalgaks held in the camps. And his father, well, no one really knows. The most common rumour was that his father was just one of the human soldiers. There were quite a few half Chalgak and half-human aliens running around. The had always soldiers had their way with the female Chalgaks.

It was well known that Alki hated humans. And Alex was going to be his right-hand man, the ‘Officer of The Banshee’ would be Alex’s title. But that’s if she survives their first meeting.
