SWITCHED

Summary

When an actor transmigrated into a fictional world, and a fictional character transmigrated into the real world. There are a lot of things Xiao Zhan could do - sing, dance, act, cook, draw - but not fighting cultivators, and definitely not summon an army of corpses! Most importantly, how can he handle being around Wang Yibo's fictional self when he knew the man had been fantasising about him since fifteen? Wei Wuxian swore just a few minutes ago he was still out there, destroying the Wens who had taken away his home, but when he opened his eyes he arrived at a dreamland where there are moving pictures, metal carriages, and people are so rich they poop in a beautiful white porcelain throne. Also, why does the Lan Zhan he saw smile so often and talk so much?

Chapter 1

As soon as the hot water hit his face, Xiao Zhan finally felt alive.

He had just landed for barely an hour before he was dragged to the press conference, then an interview, followed by another interview, then meeting with the director, then another interview...he wanted nothing more than to just collapse on his bed now. It was nearly nine now, and if he were at Cloud Recess he would have been dragged by Lan Wangji to bed already.

Unfortunately the man playing Lan Wangji was very much the same man persistently asking him out for supper. Zheng Fan Xing, Guo Cheng and Yu Bin had the sense to leave him alone to get a good rest, but not Wang Yibo, that jerk. Well, it was his fault to begin with, admittedly. He was the one who promised to treat Yibo for a meal, but had yet to fulfill that promise. They had been reunited several times already for the fanmeeting events but for some reason it always ended with either him rushing for another schedule, Yibo rushing for another schedule, or that one embarrassing time when he forgot his wallet and the younger man had paid for their meals.

This time, they were reunited for the spin-off movie of Untamed, that would be focusing mainly on Zheng Fan Xing and Yu Bin's characters, Lan Sizhui and Wen Ning. Both Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo were invited to be in the movie as well - considering they were the main characters of the drama series. However, they would only appear for a good ten minutes of the two hour movie - still a good portion, considering they were not the focus of the movie. The filming was not supposed to take more than a few days for their scenes, so Xiao Zhan knew both him and Yibo had limited time. Tonight was perhaps the only free time he would have to sneak out for a few bites with his co-star.

Getting out of the shower, he got dressed in a pair of comfy jeans and a clean white dress shirt. They were only going out for a quick late night snack but he was sure with the series's popularity, there'd be reporters hungrily waiting for any chance to snap shots of the stars' life outside the screen. He couldn't go out in his sleepwear anymore like he used to back when he was an unknown designer. Especially not when he was going to be photographed next to Wang Yibo, that handsome little jerk. Humph!

He sat on his bed and began flipping through pages of Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation - the original novel. He had skimmed through the original work of course, when he was first casted as Wei Wuxian, but he had avoided reading the extra chapters. Xuan Lu, who played Jiang Yanli had been giggling and teasing them about the extra chapters after all, and she had mentioned she particularly enjoyed the incense burner chapter. Xiao Zhan could only read 60% of the extra chapters before he felt his face heating and his brain shutting down. He couldn't help imagining himself and Yibo in the character's places and so had to stop. Otherwise he doubted he could put on a good performance without automatically trying to clench his butt whenever he saw Yibo.

But this time, a portion of the movie would be taking chunks of the extra chapters (not the incense burner one, that would be banned!) and therefore Xiao Zhan was determined to read till the end. But, speaking of Yibo, he is late...

"Zhan Ge!"

Speak of the devil. Seriously, can't he press the bell? This was not a cheap motel, they had bells, and most importantly phones.

Xiao Zhan opened the door and sure enough Wang Yibo was there, grinning - an action so unlike Lan Wangji. Ironically enough he only showed his wide, sincere smile when he was with people close to him, like Lan Wangji. He was like Lan Wangji, and unlike Lan Wangji at the same time.

Yibo entered his room and immediately noticed the book. "You're reading the novel, Ge?"

Xiao Zhan nodded. "I thought I should read the part about the juniors in more details, since the script doesn't capture everything."

Yibo nodded. "Of course, as expected of Xiao Laoshi. You're so professional."

"Farting rainbow again, Wang Laoshi? Do it on camera only."

"Nonsense, I always sing praises of you even off camera. It's you who only praise me and makes promises on camera, but forgets about me off camera," Yibo pretended to sulk.

Xiao Zhan laughed and playfully hit his arm. "Stop talking nonsense, Bo Di. Aren't we going for a meal now? Let's go, leave the book there."

Arm slung around each other's shoulders, both actors headed out.
