Chapter 1 - The Shoe -
Lucy
"Why are you still with that jerk?"
A lot of people have asked me.
The last person to have asked was Stacey, my best friend. Just before she slammed the café's door, five minutes ago.
Fives minutes ago...
We were having a nice conversation about clothes, than it turned into the best anniversary gifts ever and I just had to mention the shoe that Jason gave me for my birthday. Stacy was mad at me for accepting it.
- Only one of a pair??!! She stammered angrily when I mentioned it.
- But it was pretty!! I replied.
- It wasn't even the big day!
- Only a month away.
- Past, Lucy, a month ago. She shouted this while banging the table in front of her and standing. "And only one shoe." She continued.
- But he lost the other...I started
- To a beautiful blond!!! She cut me!
- But sharing is caring you know!
- Well that's too much caring and to the wrong person
- But admit it would've suited me!!! I joked trying to make her laugh.
- It didn't fit you Lucy, it wasn't even your size. She blatantly said.
Then it was a complete silence, followed by "I'm sorry" from both sides.
Today she was really mad at me, but I understand her.
I mean who wouldn't be.
- Then why don't you just break up with him. Is it that hard?
- I love him, Stacey and I'm not expecting you to understand.
She sighed, then paused.
- But it's true, I really do love Jason. Even though he's hurting me and because of him I spend my time crying, thinking and deciding to leave, and then just a smile from him and I would forget everything. Just thinking of him makes me smile and my heart starts beating fast like... I continued
- Ok, ok, ok I get it, stop, but keep thinking like that and before you know it he'll leave you, flying in your seventh sky or what not. She harshly started while packing her stuff she added "Since my advice doesn't please you, I'm going somewhere I am needed. It's either him or me Lucy and I am not sharing with a guy like that! "
That said she slammed the café's door.
A month later, I received a call from Jason telling me he was going to Japan with some friends.
"What about me... "Us" I mean" I asked him and he told me there were no "U" in "ME" and hung up.
I never heard from him again...
