THE SCENT
She entered the school with her confident self, swaying her hips down the hallway attracting looks from every corner.0
She was new in town and in their life but she was owning it with a fresh scent of her attitude and looks,brownish black long wavy hair bouncing around her waist,5,8" tall,brown eyes and a smile to die for .
She was announcing her presence to them,daring them to reject,but who can
They need that new air around, something fresh to graze on and she brought it all with her.
Mr.Bentil's door was knocked,and he called a come in, knowing his assistant steps ,he waited for her to speak
"Sir,the Mensahs are here"
He raised his head so sharply, checking himself and surroundings
" Let them in "
Gina Mensah,hurried in shaking his hands with a smile and a mocking eyes.
" Hi Bentil, Good morning, you look the same for a guy who is 56 years old"
" Hahahahahahaha, Gina you are too old to be a sweet talker,how is the family,and where is that beautiful daughter of yours"
" She went back into the car to get something she left behind in the car,you know teenagers"
"Ooh I know teenagers alright,and I hope she took after her father cause you were horrible back in school"
Gina frowned her face and looked death serious into Bentil's eyes,a minute passed and laughter was erupted into the air, a creak was heard and their head moved towards the door, with a surprise gaze and a beating heart ,Bentil gave the stranger a heartfelt hug with a padding on the back,he missed them alot. Ever since he moved to Cape ville he has not seen these two in a long time,he was the observer back in school even though he was not occasionally bullied he kept his books as friends and never try to join any groups or any gathering, but he was ok until he meet Gina one late night at the library,he was charmed and tongue tied to speak but she was brave and outspoken,she moved to him causing him to land in the dirt
"Hey, stop right there,what are you doing around the library this time of the night acting suspicious"
He was so shock to speak, (who is this girl, why is she questioning me,and why am I not speaking)
"Can't you talk,are dumb or you are just scared I caught you "
" c-c-caught me doing wh- what" he was confused,what has he been caught doing again.
" Caught doing whatever you are doing" Gina knew she was the quilty one for snooping around the restricted area,she wanted to know more about the lands and their owners, she was so curious to know more,when her curiosity is raised,she will do everything to get it and that was a bad habit for a 14 year old but she had an innocent face you will never suspect her.
She moved closer to him and realized this guy saw nothing and if someone saw them now it will be hard to explain,so she turned and left him there on the ground where he was too surprise to even answer back.
Bentil was pulled out from his dreams when he was nudged on the back my that strange girl from last night,he didn't hear anything from her even though her lips were moving
"Hey are you listening"
He got out of this daze,and looked at her face again
"What "
She rolled her eyes at him,this boy is weird but I need someone on the look out and he is perfect
"Friends"
With his eyes wide and his mouth open,he just got a friend and they were trouble until a new one was added to their gang when he saved them from getting caught and that was how they were until university, since they were two guys and one girl he was closer to the guy than Gina but he loved her more. John was the best,he was everything you could look for in a friend,a best friend and I was not the only one who agree cause two years into the friendship,he started to date Gina and they have been inseparable since then, well until he moved Gina to the Ocean view community and I moved down here to Cape ville as a Teacher 23 years ago,now I have two sons and am the Head Master to the entire High School of Cape Ville.
Now his friends called him to admit their daughter at his school and he was so glad to help but why, Cape Ville is a small town compared to Ocean view community so he was a little bit curious to know,but before he could even start a soft knock was heard,they all turned their head to see the lovely young lady who has eyes like John,and a face like Gina and he was so intrigue of the resemblance
"Good morning Sir,nice to meet you, Am Viveca Lovy Mensah"
And just like that Mr. Bentil knew he was in trouble.
