Ch 1

Jessara pov

I will never forget that day almost 18 years ago.

After the ceremony I sat down with Killian and Hassan explaining exactly what Matecor said. I can see Hassan shift in his chair, and it makes me nervous.

“When he wanted to be with my daughter Reina. He only wanted to be with her to have her bear him a child so he would have claim to the throne. Since he doesn’t think he has an heir he will try to find a way in. By taking Jessara and having her bear his child then he will have a claim. May not be a strong one but he will have one nonetheless. You will need to keep her safe and protected.”

I see Killian shift in his seat now looking at me and Rikar. Rikar hasn’t been very cooperative since we left Tessa at the medical ward, but she should be out soon and in a room to rest. Once she is resting Rikar and I will go see her and he can visit with his mate. That was the beginning of their little love story and now here we are. A week before Rikar is to be crowned King and Cora to be crowned Queen.

How far we have come since those days. Lucky for us Matecor never really tried anything since Mila upped the spell making him not want to have anything to do with me. Which was fine by me and made our lives a lot easier through the years. I stand here looking out from my office window watching the training going on down below, and hope we have done and prepared enough. We have ramped up training since we have the big day coming up in a week.

I get a knock on my door from a staff member and it seems like Cora is irritated yet again. I quickly walk down the hall and make my way to her office, and when I enter she has her head on the desk crying.

“Cora sweetie what is wrong?”

“I don’t know! I’m pissed off at everyone! Nothing is being done right! I’m irritated beyond belief, and I’m nervous about the ceremony!”

“It will be ok! Everything is already worked out. Remember this is all I did when I was the Beta’s kid at my old pack. It will be ok, and the transition will be slow. If I stay around for five years that’s fine. You will do great Cora, just believe in yourself!”

She stands up pulling me in for a hug and starts crying even more. I hear Killian and Rikar come into the office and I’m sure Rikar is curious as to why Cora is crying yet again. I have her sit down and walk towards Killian and Rikar and speak very softly.

“Rikar, have the Doctor check Cora. She smells different and is emotional. I think she may be pregnant.”

They both stare at me and at Cora which sends her into another crying fit. I just chuckle when I quickly pull Killian out the door. We start walking back to our offices when I can’t get my office door shut quick enough before Killian starts freaking out.

“Are you fucking serious Jessara! You think she is pregnant? How do you know?”

“Well let’s see. They are mated and it’s only a matter of time before it would happen. Oh and I have had a couple myself or did you forget about that?”

Matecor pov

Getting up today I just lie here looking at the ceiling, and for some reason today seems different then every other day. It’s like I’m in a fog of some sorts that is slowly clearing out, but it isn’t clear yet. I can’t make any sense of it so I slowly swing my legs over the side rubbing the back of my neck. I stand up walking to the bathroom and hop in the shower hoping it will relieve some of this haze in my head. I think about all the stuff coming up with the pack and the swearing in that will happen in a week for the new King whatever the fuck his name is.

I finish showering and getting dressed when I head out of my room to my office. When I enter my Beta John is already sitting there, and we start going over what’s on the agenda for the day. Sitting here handling paperwork when I get a sharp migraine pounding through my head. What the hell is this shit! I grab my head, putting it down trying to get past the pain. I must have passed out because the moment I come to I see my Beta in front of me in a panic. I just stare blinking while he stares at me wide eyed.

“I remember! My son! He is with that Lycan and trash wolf!”

“Are you kidding me! Now you remember! It’s been 18 fucking years! He is going to be sworn in as King with his mate Cora in a few days!” John yelled.

“Well we will just have to arrive early to crash it now won’t we! I will just play dumb like I have done when I need to meet with King Killian for whatever bullshit he needs to talk about. Then when the time is right, we will attack. Maybe even kidnap me a wolf in the process.

“That’s suicide! You won’t ever get out with her!” John screamed at me.

“Well then maybe I will just take out some guards first then grab her later. That might be the easiest to do.”

“I still don’t like it.”

“I don’t care! I’m the fucking Alpha!”

I mind link to get warriors together to meet me out in front of the pack house. When I stand up to exit my office I cannot believe they put a spell on me to forget about my claim to the throne. Here I thought the pup died since I had rid this world of his mother. I found it with that lycan and wolf trash, and they hid themselves in plain sight. I knew he looked familiar! I exit the pack house to warriors trying to figure out what is going on.

“We are going to crash the ceremony and get my rightful place next to my son!”

They all look at me like I have grown a second head. They look back and forth with each other and I know they are questioning my decision. I don’t give a fuck what they think! That throne is mine, and I’m going to take it back! I’m going to slowly destroy them one at a time! If I can get my hands on that trash wolf, oh what I will fucking do to her! Lock her up to my bed and teach her a lesson on what trash she is. I chuckle while I think about just how tiny she is. I know she can handle a lycan because she is mated to one. Just the thought makes my cock start to come to life.

I quickly get the thoughts out of my head because we need to move out! I quickly strip and shift and start running towards the palace. Goddess help them because they will fucking need it!
