Summary

This is a story about a Trans (M to F) girl going to a new school. Ryan Hemming is 13 and lives with her father. It's so much easier to write characters around your own age (14) isn't it? Haha.

Chapter 1 [First Day]

Ryan's POV [First Day]

0

It's my first day at this new school. I grab my backpack and straighten out my pink dress before walking out the door and getting into the car with my dad. He looks at me and smiles.

"Well you dressed nice." He laughs.

My face turns bright red. "W-well, I want people to like me." I tell him.

"People will like you no matter how you dress, Ryan. And if they don't then their not worth having around." He says.

I smile at that. He drives to the school and parks in the parking lot. My dad turns to look at me. "You can do it bud- er, um, sweetie?" He asks confused as he rubs the back of his neck.

I give him a small nod of approval. "Love you, dad."

"You too." He says.

I close the door and make my way towards the doors. Once I'm inside I finally feel the nervousness kicking in.

I should have worn pants, and any color but pink. Oh God, I've messed up.

"Are you lost? What's your name?" A woman asks, giving me a strange look.

"Ryan Hemming. I just moved here and I have no idea where I'm supposed to be going..." I tell her, trying to not show my nervousness.

She smiles sweetly at me and waves me to follow her. I clench the strap of my bag tighter as I follow her down the hallway.

"My name is Miss Heather, by the way." She tells me as we reach a classroom door. She gives is a knock as wait about a second before it opens.

"I need to borrow Anna Lock for a second, Miss Sarah." Miss Heather says and gets a nod before a girl with burgundy hair steps out.

"Am I in trouble?" She asks.

"No, this is Ryan. She's new here and needs help finding the classrooms. I'll put her in all of your classes. You wouldn't mind tk help, would you?" Miss Heather asks.

The girl who's name is Anna nods. "I'd love to help."

"Well, I'll be going then. You two be nice." She says before patting my back and walking back down the hall.

"I'm Anna. This is our first period class, math. Don't worry, it's not that hard, haha." She laughs.

"Thank you." I say quietly. Her smile falls and she looks at me.

"You sound like a boy, that's a little weird." She tells me.

Oh, no. I knew I shouldn't have worn this, I should just wear boy clothes to school. I feel the sting as the tears well up in my eyes.

I'm not talking to anyone at school ever again. This is terrible.

"I'm sorry..." I say, barely audible as tears stream down my cheeks.

Her face turns to shock as she pulls a tissue from her jean pocket. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean anything by it I swear. I didn't mean for it to sound that way, please don't cry." Anna explains as she wipes away my tears with the tissue.

Anna holds my hand and walks me to the bathroom. "Here." She says softly as she dabs my face with a cold, wet, paper towel.

My face turns bright pink as she smiles as me. "Much better. Please don't cry."

She takes a small pink tube from her pocket and unscrews the lid. It's lipgloss. She applies a layer onto my lips while I stand and watch her work in the mirror.

The lipgloss makes my lips look so pretty. I've never bought any before. I've never bought any makeup before, actually.

"See, now you look even cuter than before!" She states cheerily.

Anna holds my hand as she guides me back to the classroom. I shake the wrinkles out of my dress before we go inside.

Maybe this school won't be so bad.

So um... I started another story. Again. This one is going to be fun to write. I thought I knew what I was doing but apparently not? I'm starting to change my mind about a couple of things regarding this story. It's probably not going to end as I planned. I never actually plan anything. I write as I go and panic over mistakes months later. Haha, I'm a mess. Love you guys.
