She was in the emergency room ready to have her baby. She doesn’t know if it’s a boy or girl. But she has been coming up with both names. She was panting real hard, it looked like she might pass out. Never in her life she experienced pain like this. “Miss, try to slow down your breathing,” said the nurse “the doctor will be here shortly.”

“Well tell the damn doctor to hurry up,” said the pregnant woman.

She was trying very hard to not swear, but when you’re in a lot of pain like this there’s no going back. Just then the doctor walked in the room. She looked at the women and smiled while she put on gloves.

“Okay how do you feel?” she asked.

“Oh, I feel fantastic thanks for asking,” the woman replied sarcastically.

The doctor just laughed and went to work. She looked at the women’s lady part and checked her breathing.

“Now I want you to lay back slow,” she said when she was done.

When she did the nurse put her legs up on the stirrups. The doctor sat on the other side and got her equipment ready.

“On the count of three I want you to push. Okay….one….two….three push!”

She pushed and gripped the bed sheets as well. She felt something go through, then a cry.

“Oh my, it’s a girl,” said the doctor.

The woman fell back on the bed and closed her eyes wanting to go to sleep. She was panting harder than before and then she thought of the perfect name for her baby.

“What are you going to name her?” the doctor asked.

“I will name her”--she said in a shallow breath-- “Alex Light--” she never got to finish because she took her last breath.
