She felt happy... A small smile graced her face as she stood at the bus stand in a simple kurta and jeans… She was a simple girl, with simple desires from an equally simple life… love…

She was waiting for the bus to her home, returning from her college... The reason behind the smile that covered her simple pretty face?? Love... She was in love... or she thought she was... The guy was from her college… A senior. Happy, jovial handsome college heartthrob and way out of her league. And she loved him... or she thought she did... Her heart, it always fluttered whenever he was around... She faltered in her steps whenever he was in close proximity... Butterflies started to dance in her tummy if his eyes would ever fall on her even for a fraction of a second. And her body, it gave rise to goosebumps… If this was not love then what it was?? That’s what they say happens when you fall in love in the movies and novels right??

So yes she was in love with her college senior. And the reason behind her smile?? Because he had noticed her and had approached her for a date. A freaking date with her love!! Wasn’t that enough reason to go crazy? She stood at the bus stand, smiling like a fool not aware of anyone or anything around her. Her heart was in her mouth today. She couldn’t believe her fate. She would be going on a date with her hearts love. Wow!!

The signal turned red. He was getting late for office. He was already running ten minutes late and he was an embodiment of punctuality. HE banged the steering wheel in frustration to have to waste another five minutes to this grueling traffic of the city of jot. Funny name. City of joy but the joy was missing somewhere. People were happy but their smiles were so fake. Good breed of jovial people with a black charred heart inside. Selfless people full of love but selfish at heart. City of joy, but the smiles were so fake. He laughed sarcastically, looking around the streets when his eyes fell on a smile amidst the fakeness all around that didn’t seem fake.

She was lost in her own world. Standing at the bus stand across the street, a broad smile plastering her face, dreamy eyes, she looked so pretty. Simple yet nice. So different than all the made up chalky beauty he’s always surrounded with at office and office parties. Her smile was beautiful. Not out of this world over the top heart stopping beautiful, but it has warmth in it that spread across the street and reached his heart.

She looked pretty, no make-up that much he could say even looking at her from such a distance. He knew how make-up can successfully cover up one’s flaws and she wasn’t flawless. Her small upturned nose was dusted with freckles, but she had a fair skin. Her hair was long and braided. She had a simple white kurta on over skinny fit jeans. A backpack on her back and she looked young, quite younger than him, a college student, may be. But she looked pretty, warm, simple, nice and sweet..A perfect wife material!!

A few estranged strands of her hair escaped the confinement of her braided mane as a bus ride past her. The smoke choked her up. She broke into a hurl of cough coming out of her trance. Her lips muttered silent profanities at no one particular, but to the thick cloud of black charred smoke that the hangered bus had emitted. taking out a handkerchief from her bag she wiped her face clean. Then came out a bottle of water and she gulped down the whole of it as a next bus approached next. She put her bottle inside, tucked her estranged hair behind her ear and embarked in the bus and it moved away.

The signal was cleared. He put the ignition of his car back to life, pulled on the gears and drove away with a smile. His heart felt light and happy after so many years. He felt good inside.

Matches are indeed made in heaven and send to the earth to collide and bond. Some are successfully bonded with the right ones, while others fall prey to the fake one’s disguised with the mask of love. Love is not a term that can be confined with restrictions and time lines of before and after a marriage. It happens when it has to happen. Marriage just enhances the bond transforming that love to a forever kind. A relationship that is for the lifetime to last.
