epilogue + Chapter 1 : The Green Town

All anyone heard was the deafening screams as the whole town burned to the ground, everything I had ever known; gone.

“Ronnie, baby you have to leave, You have to leave” she insisted.

“ I am not leaving you mommy, I am not going to leave you”, the child cried, dense clouds of smoke filling her lungs. Until she was pulled back roughly the heat from the flames nearing them and then with a loud bang the ceiling collapsed. Winding up little ronnie's life just like that. Everything she had ever known, gone.
Just like that.

No one knew, what was happening. How the fire started in the first place, Why on earth were there wolves sighting near the forest front, Or where was Bella. Wait, where was Bella? The eleven year old thrashed in the arms of whoever was holding her, Itching to catch a glimpse of her adoptive sister’s golden hair.

Both the sister’s belonged to completely
different backgrounds, with no knowledge about their biological families, having each other by their side is all they have known. Both the girls have been stuck together since Lisa adopted them. The same Lisa who lay crushed beneath the fallen roof not 15 feet away from the sobbing child. Poor ronnie, abandoned. All over again.

*13 Years Later Today *

Readily dressed in a flamboyant and very expensive floral blazer and dress pants sat, KJ. His outfit complimented the gold jewelry around his neck. He was a treat to the eyes, but he looked like an annoyed 7 year old as he complained about morning flights.

It was 6 am as we reached the airport, and unlike him I was (in an equally expensive but) basic outfit. A fitted plum hoodie paired with mom jeans, chunky sneakers and a black coat shielding me from the wind, with the usual set of rings which I made a habit of wearing everywhere.

With our luggage by our sides we stood outside the Airport entrance. He reached out and pulled me into a hug, his very expensive perfume settling in my breath, “ Don’t cause too much trouble red, they are off your back for now. If you do something stupid they will be hot on your trail all over again”.

Red, a name he started calling me to annoy me, given the context; I had red highlights in my hair when we first met. The ridiculous nickname does it's job but I pretend otherwise.

And then with all seriousness draining from his eyes he continued, “Besides i am tired of saving your ass over and over again” a lazy smile stretching across his face. I pulled back immediately, “You’re so full of yourself, and no you won’t have to come down again. I’m not a toddler, I can take care of myself.”

“Never doubted you red, but seriously don’t end up dead” he said. I made a mental picture of me punching his face repeatedly. "And don't miss me too much"
"you're getting ahead of yourself now".He kissed the side of my head as we parted ways heading into different directions.

Hours later, I finally reached my destination. The cold wind continued to pierce my skin as the sky darkened above me. Different shades of blue hues.
‘Poli Prasinos’ a huge sign board hung right outside the airport exit. “Green town” I translated it into my head, the name did justice to this place. Being located near the hills the town was evergreen and lively.

A tall silhouette approached from afar and before I could get a proper look a little body slammed into my thigh. “Johnny Jr, There he is. Look at you all grown up” I cheered as the little man laughed uncontrollably, swinging in my arms. "I missed you Ronnie, did you bring me any presents?"
"I got you so many presents, just don't tell your dad" i whispered in his ear.
“Captain!"i said, acknowledging the tall muscular man who looked the same as he did two years ago. “ Kiddo, it was time you visited”, he ruffled my hair and pulled me in a hug. It had been long since I felt the warmth of familiarity. Patting my back he smiled warmly at me.

There are a very few people I’d consider family KJ and his big head are on the list alongside the Walkers. I ran into Captain John a few years ago when I was new to the town. I was looking for shelter, he was a Sergeant back then. He saved me from trouble a couple times. Soon him and his lovely mate gave me shelter in their home until I had to move again. Ever since, he treats me like his own child and I couldn't be more grateful. He is a beta wolf in his pack.

Even though I am completely human. Alot is put into perspective when you discover you are half blood of a mythical blood line and your parents left you near a dumpster at your birth.

This cold gloomy town started feeling like a safe haven with the walkers and their lovely Alpha and Luna. Over the years I have met and befriended a lot of non human creatures. KJ says it is because of me being halfblood, something alongside destiny and some 'meant to be' bullshit. It's hard to believe in all that when your entire life has felt purposeless.
Oh well, it hasn’t cost me any harm till now. Weirdly much, there is no human that I consider very dear to me.

I stood there smiling at Johnny Jr when I noticed a guard running opposite from our direction. Everything seemed calm until I felt it, The soft rumble of the ground beneath my feet. Spinning around there were two things happening in front of me. I could sense the ceiling splitting as the ground shook, But the air stilled as an emerald eyed god stared right back at me.
