C1: Amazement

Introduction

You and your 11 other friends are going on a space exploration adventure. You 11 were unexpectedly chosen out of all of the other astronauts in the selection, so you guys have been studying up until this very day. Reading the Wikipedia, books, looking at authentic space photos, and more.

You guys wanted to learn more about Mars, a place where most of the astronauts in NASA like to circle on their plate, the main target here. They wanted to learn about it and see if it had anything important or interesting to study. That’s what you guys were about to do, right now, on the day of September 15th, 2022.

------------------------------------------------------------------------Chapter 1: Amazement

You paced around the auditorium as you waited for your 11 other friends to appear. People walked past you to go to their locations, to take care of their priorities, stuff like that. It, of course, wasn’t much of a busy day this Saturday, as Sunday? Well, Sunday was a different story.

It always was.

It was always busy on Sundays, people had to quickly turn in projects before Monday came, people had to read a lot of stuff too for research purposes. You look to your side and you see all of your friends walking in a group whilst laughing about.

Red: “AHH! I can’t guys! That’s just incredibly hilarious! It’s just ridiculous how that happened, like, that’s just so unlikely and I can’t get over it at all,” I said as I skipped alongside Pink.

Pink: “Oh, yeah! Me too! It’s just very silly but I think he did something healthy for himself, I expected that from Orange anyways,” I said while fixing the flower on my head.

Orange: “Oh, guys, stop talking about my over consumption of carrots! It was an accident, okay? It’s not my fault Friday night football was on and I didn’t have a full stash of popcorn!” I said, stomping my foot.

Blue: “Well it is your fault since you like carrots, besides, carrots remind you of you, right? You’re orange just like carrots are!” I said while chuckling in-between words.

Orange: “Oh, shut up, Blue!” I said, getting embarrassed, flushing a bit and hoping no one would tell Purple at all.

Yellow: “Well, in my opinion, it’s very dumb, you could’ve went to the store, DUH, that’s a thing,” I said.

Orange: “Well, whaddya’ know? HISS HISS BITCH!” I said angrily, “I didn’t feel like getting up and don’t say it, I am actually a couch potato and… well, yeah!” I said before anybody else could say it.

Green: “Alright, everybody, stop making such a big deal over Orange’s over consumption of CARROTS, it’s just vegetables and it’s not even that serious, he’s already orange anyway, how much more orange can he get?” I asked, being legit dead serious, but, I made a mistake saying that, everyone started laughing.

Dark Green: “YEAH! How much orange can the bitch get?!” I said while laughing, “bro, you’re such a jokester I’m happy you were born and I’m happy you’re my brother dude,” I said while giving him a high five as he looked at me confused.

Green: “Yeah, right…” I said as I had a weird look on my face that said, “are you crazy?”

Cyan: “Good one, Green!” I said.

Grey: “Yeah…” I said as I turned my head to the ground. As a member of NASA, I felt disrespected a lot, and by a lot, I mean A LOT! Nobody talked to me, wanted to work on projects with me, no one liked helping me, it was very unfair to me. Although the only one who cared was White, although White was reading a book while we walked and hated being disturbed, so I felt alone.

You look up and see your friends approaching you, so you quickly stop pacing, take your hand away from your chin, put your hands behind your back and do what you and your friends called, “the friend bow” to them.

(You) Purple: “Hey, guys! What’s all the laughing and talking about?” you ask as you join in along with their walk.

Red: “Orange over consumed carrots on Friday because’ he didn’t have any popcorn which he could’ve simply gone to the nearby mart to get some. There isn’t one too far from your house,” I said, while elbowing him.

Orange: “STOP ELBOWING ME! Look, I know it was sort of funny and I know I was being a lazy couch potato and could’ve prevented this VERY MOMENT of you all making fun of me but, well, I guess this is the fate of this very day,” I said as I released a large sigh.

Brown: “Hey! Wait up! Sorry, I was talking with one of the girlies, y’know, the waiters?” I said as I quickly caught up with everyone, “boy, am I out of breath?” I sighed heavily.

Dark Green: “Hey, dude, why are you out of breath, huh?” I asked teasingly.

Brown: “Stop being dirty-minded,” I said.

Dark Green: “Oh, no, I’m not being dirty-minded! That’s because you think I’m talking about an entirely different subject, you could’ve simply responded with a ‘I was running to catch up with you so I wouldn’t be late’ but you thought dirty instead,” I said.

Brown: “Well, maybe you’re right, but still, the huh part just sounded sus,” I said.

You and your friends kept walking, you finally made it to the launch site. You and your friends were about to head up to space right now, it was also going to be live on TV, so everyone would get to see it and your guys’ family members would be very glad and proud of you all.

Cyan: “Oh my gosh guys! We’re legit about to go into space!” I said.

Red: “Yup, and I don’t know how to feel!” I said in a nervous tone.

Grey: “Yeah, this is gonna be exciting, White, can you please take your face out of that book?” I asked.

White: “Oh, yeah, sorry… I’m just reading about people’s ideas about Mars and what they think is on there, just assumptions and inferences, that’s all, but I’ll pay attention now,” I said as I closed the book and walked up with Grey.

Grey: “Okay! Sounds good to me,” I said as I felt a bit happy again because White was finally paying attention to me and what was happening. I didn’t care about anybody or this mission honestly, I only cared about myself and White. That’s what mattered most.

You look to your side and you see one of the commanders nod in affirmation to go onto the spaceship along with everybody else. You were the leader of the entire group, you had to make sure everyone was doing their duties and treating each other as a team and respectfully, also participating in group conversations.

You look back at everybody else and nod at them, then you walk onto the spaceship as you motion for everybody else to follow suit. They all do so as they look around at everything on the interior of the spaceship in amazement.

Orange: “This is pretty cool!” I said as I slid my finger across the walls of the spaceship. It felt so cool, I’ve never been in or seen anything like this before, this was the true first experience of our mission which was just about to take launch!

Blue: “This is incredible. I’ve never seen anything so interesting before! I’ll always keep this in my memories and speaking of which, I brought a memory book along to write down any memories that were important to me and that I want to remember,” I said as I grabbed the journal out of my pocket, it was a small little notepad and wrote this all down.

Pink: “Brown, I can’t believe this is seriously happening!” I squealed in excitement as Grey gave me a death stare, probably trying to tell me to shut up without talking because Grey was quite the introvert.

Brown: “Yeah, I’m honestly excited for our mission to start,” I said as I put my arm around Pink.

Grey: “Yeah, and I am too!” I say aloud, I decided to speak up because I wanted to be kind of included and I wanted to at least be a good participator because I do remember being told if I’m not going to get out the sheets of my world, then I’m going to be booted and be replaced which I don’t want.

Purple: “Yup, this is happening guys! I’m just as excited as the rest of you all, as the leader of our mission/group and all, so I’m going to have to keep everybody in check so please be kind to one another cause we’ve never had any problems with each other and I want to keep it that way,” I said as I looked around.

Green: “Hey, I just received some news that we’re going to be launching in approximately 15 minutes, they’re just doing a quick check on the spaceship to make sure everything’s looking good and safe for take off, people are also going to come in as well to check the interior,” I said, looking at my hologram watch.

Dark Green: “That’s cool! Green, wanna keep exploring or something? I’m still interested to see the rest of this spaceship honestly,” I said, “also, did they send you the other piece of news yet?” I asked.

Green: “No, not yet, but they’ll send it once we start to launch I think. Also, I just received another message saying that the camera people have started recording live to television this grand event!” I said aloud for everyone to hear out of excitement.

Everyone including yourself shouted in happiness and excitement, saying “woohoo!” and whistling like people would in those music concerts or football games. You all sat down in your seats and waited while playing little games on your hologram watches while waiting, Green watching for updates and your making contact with your family and friends.

You message your mom, your message reads, “mom, I’m on the spaceship right now! We’re about to take off for our official mission, Mission Telluric Ascension, we’re all very excited and hyped to start our mission off to Mars! Also, if you’re not already watching, get on the TV or Youtube and watch the live launch-off! Love you mom, XOXOXO.”

Your mom replied back in a flickity-flash saying, “I’m so proud of you sweetie! I can’t wait to see you come back home to us, have fun and I’m very proud of you, so is your dad and your siblings, when you and the others come back, we’ve got a special celebration planned,” the text from mom read.

Green: “Oop- got another message and our launch off is happening in 5 minutes approx! This is legit going live on TV and Youtube RIGHT NOW! I’m so happy right now, oh my gosh, our mommies are watching us right now!” I said as I hugged Dark Green, my brother who was happy too.

Yellow: “This is going to be the time of our lives y’all,” I said as I kept playing my game.

Dark Green: “Green, can I read this next message?” I asked as I looked at the notification of the message that had just popped up on his hologram watch just now.

Green: “Sure, bro!” I said as he leaned in so he could read.

Dark Green: “Purple, this message is to you from the International Spacestation where they’re sending us our notifications as far as time frames and stuff, it reads; please tell Purple to read out the rules and instructions on the paper the machine will give them,” I read to Purple as she nodded in understanding.

You look to your side along with all of your other peers and see a little what seems to be a space rover except it’s on earth coming towards you, it has a sheet of paper on it, you grab it and the little machine went back out of the spaceship.

You shook the paper to straighten it out, you cleared your throat and started reading.

Purple: “AHEM! We appreciate all of you for participating willingly in Mission Telluric Ascension, but because of this, you’ll have to follow the rules so that nothing bad happens to any of you and in case of an emergency,” you flip the page and read the next paragraph, “please do not bring earthly food, drinks, or anything from earth into the spacecraft, we do not want to risk malfunctions or any sort of issues,” you read.

Pink: “There’s more to read, right?” I asked.

Purple: “Yeah, I was just trying to take a deep breath, anyways, continuing on, please do not press the emergency button unless there is a REAL emergency, when you press this button, it sounds an alarm in our station so we know and we can send someone out to help,” I read some more.

Grey: “Yeah, yeah, okay is it over yet? Are you done?” I asked. I was getting real hungry as of now.

Purple: “Almost, last thing I think, you’ll be heading for our bigger spacecraft which is kind of like an entire building but made to float in space and head to Mars. It has a couple of rooms, such as the cafeteria, the weapon room, storage, O2 room, shields, engines and security, keep it clean,” I read.

Red: “Pfft, no shit sherlock,” I said, “we’ve got Orange who’s messy as fuck,” I said.

Pink: “Red, can you try not to curse please? It’s bad and it’s not really kind to do,” I said, putting my hands together.

Red: “WELL NO SHIT SHERLOCK,” I said again because I really meant it, this was seriously a no shit sherlock moment.

Pink: “....I’ll just ignore and talk to Brown,” I said.

Green: “WE’RE STARTING THE LAUNCH OFF! Our food and drinks SPACE EDITION are inside of the cafeteria of what’s called the Skeld which we’re going to be there in approx 5 hours,” I said.
