Chapter 1

Sweat drips down my face, my muscles are burning, knuckles bloodied and busted. But I love it, fighting is something that helps me get my anger out. Most people would call me crazy for fighting in the men’s league. But it’s fun seeing people underestimate me and then kicking their asses. He goes from thinking this will be easy cash to wishing he wasn’t born. Every once in a while I get bored so I go for the easy shot. He comes lunging at. He is sloppy. He throws his weight around. So when he missed the punch, I put a little pressure on the vagus nerve, and tada knocked out cold. my coach, Noah comes up to me and asks “getting bored again I see.” he was right I was bored. “Okay, we’re done for tonight. How are you getting home?” he asks with fake worry.

“I’m walking home mom.” I put extra finesse on the mom to get my point across.

“Okay fine but stay safe and all that stuff.” I let out a laugh.

“Yeah yeah. Got it. See you.” Once I stepped out of the warehouse a hand came around my mouth. Panic shivered through me, I kicked and screamed. Something cold pressed against my temple. A gun. I looked around for someone to help me. But all I could see were six men two times bigger than me. The next thing I know fire is coming from somewhere.

The man with the gun snarls at me. “You bitch!” the guy next to him gets scared.

“I thought you said she was human, not a fire fairy.” the guy says.

“That’s what I was told.” the guy with the gun said. It took a second for what they said to sink in but once I heard I looked at my hand. They were on fire for sure. I’ll freak out later. I felt the cold leave my temple. I looked up and they were running in the other direction. Well, that’s over. Okay, now time to freak out. No no no no. this is not possible. I’m not a fairy. Just go home and sleep. It will be gone tomorrow.

Thunk thunk thunk’ a pounding woke me up the next day. Did I really get that hungover? But this pounding was not painful. It was my door. Without thinking about what I was wearing I opened the door. A bunch of weird-looking men walked into my room without asking me. “What the fuck! It is three in the morning! Who are you?!” I yelled. They started picking up my stuff and taking it out of my apartment. “I am fucking serious! Why and who are you here?!” one of the men stops working and turns to me.

“We are taking your stuff to the academy for you.” the man said. Confusion hits me like a truck. What the fuck is he talking about? The man looks around and takes a call. It is too quiet for me to hear. He turns around with a look of pity. “You need to come to the academy to learn how to control your magic. It’s that or magic prison. You nearly killed six men yesterday.”

“They had a gun, it was self-defense!” I was now yelling because I was being punished for protecting myself! The man looked like he felt guilty. Why would he feel guilty? I looked at the man then all I saw was black. I screamed at the top of my lungs.
